swdke Posted August 31, 2019 #1 Share Posted August 31, 2019 I have a GTY/Guarantee cabin booked out of Rome on Jewel of the Seas in about 40 days. Any experience as to when Royal Caribbean starts to issue cabins to those with GTY cabins? Thanks!
Clarea Posted August 31, 2019 #2 Share Posted August 31, 2019 Could be anytime between now and when you arrive at the pier.
CTCruiser76 Posted August 31, 2019 #3 Share Posted August 31, 2019 Ours was assigned 14 days before embarkation - now just patiently waiting for Dorian to pass by.
Rare island lady Posted August 31, 2019 #4 Share Posted August 31, 2019 Ours was 5 days prior to sail away.
travelplus Posted August 31, 2019 #5 Share Posted August 31, 2019 It may help to put in a RoyalUP bid before the GTY gets assigned to better your chances. For me placing a minimum bid on a next to sold out interior GTY is not a guarantee for an upgrade but a better chance at one For our upcoming cruise the first segment on the B2b is in an almost sold out Interior GTY so I placed a bid for the minimum $75 Oceanview and $125 per passenger Standard OV balcony. The second cruise I bid higher for an OV balcony ftom our OV and Large OV Balcony room. Royal can then resell our rooms.
gerif Posted August 31, 2019 #6 Share Posted August 31, 2019 I think the real answer is whenever they feel like it. No rhyme nor reason.

Actually, there is a scheme involved based on bookings, average occupancy, season, itinerary, number of Crown & Anchor passenger (and their levels). Mullwi Posted August 31, 2019 #9 Share Posted August 31, 2019 Hi! I have 3 interior guarantees for Freedom 10/27. We are all diamond and diamond plus. Our set sail pass lists our deck as “reprint”, cabin as “GTY”, but we have muster stations. my adult children and I have B15 and parents have C08. I’m assuming we have tentative assignments. Any way to tell what category may be based on muster stations? thanks!
CruisinCons Posted August 31, 2019 #10 Share Posted August 31, 2019 There is no real answer to that question. Ours was already there on July 20th (I don't know for how long as I thought it was too early so wasn't looking) for our December 8th Oasis sailing. Never thought it would be there almost 6 months out.

We're doing inside guarantee on a Majesty cruise in about 88 days to make it to diamond.
Trailcon Posted September 5, 2019 #13 Share Posted September 5, 2019 DW and I are booked on Anthem 5 Oct to Bermuda. I booked a GTY for the first time because I liked the price. I finished checkin and noticed a deck 11asignment without a room number. I called my TA to ask her to call RCCl. lo and behold a cabin assignment appeared. cruising grandma Posted September 6, 2019 #14 Share Posted September 6, 2019 I booked a gty ocean view balcony on Allure leaving Sunday, and was assigned cabin the next day. I think was booked in June. It may depend on how many cabins they have left when you book.

bullsh Posted September 6, 2019 #17 Share Posted September 6, 2019 We are 100 days out on our Dec cruise on Independence. We are still waiting on room assignment. We are diamond. I have count on the open balcony rooms of over 150. I think they draw numbers out of a hat to determine when and who they assign GTY rooms. ZiggaZagga17 Posted September 7, 2019 #18 Share Posted September 7, 2019 It's seemingly nothing more than a lottery - we are booked on the Allure TA in March and booked a G Balcony back in June when the prices were lower than low. We got our allocation less than 7 days later! That's the furthest out I've ever had!
dancingfish Posted September 7, 2019 #19 Share Posted September 7, 2019 I have a balcony GTY for November and nothing! I was hoping to know by now. But I feel better that I am not the only one who has to wait!
WeMissSeaView Posted September 7, 2019 #20 Share Posted September 7, 2019 Have done this a few times, and there is not a pattern to it. I am currently waiting on one to be assigned for a cruise on 10/25. That said, they have all been assigned in time to print out luggage tags. TomC21 Posted September 23, 2019 #21 Share Posted September 23, 2019 I recently booked a GTY balcony cabin on the Mariner sailing October 25th. How soon do they usually assign the cabin. I’ve never done a guarantee cabin before, as this was a last minute decision. thank you Tom
Clarea Posted September 23, 2019 #22 Share Posted September 23, 2019 There's no "usually" or "typically". Assignment can come anytime between now and the day to get to the pier.

However, I have read that some people didn't get theirs until they arrived at the port. I got mine on a GTY cabin about 90 days before sailing.
