Sorry for being a pest, but you do know if you can eat at the same restaurant 3 times?  If so, I'd think eating at the steakhouse would be a deal, as it's normally $35/person.  On NCL, we used our dining package to eat at the French Le Bistro for all of our meals because we enjoyed it so much.

I think the deal is one meal in the steakhouse (normally $38) and two additional meals in Jiji or Cucina.

Hopefully you didn't get sandwiched between two rotund strangers like I did on the Dream last December. It's best to hold off and grab an aisle or bar seat after the others have filled up.

Yes, I hate the way they guide you into the aisle, and won't let you decide where you want to sit...

Ok, thank you.  So the steakhouse is now $38?  I missed that increase notification.

Just another side note while I'm sitting here bored... I never understood the people who pile a plate full of food from the buffet, and schlep it all the way back to their cabin. There are hundreds of perfectly good tables to eat at, yet you insist upon trying to navigate elevators and hallways, just so you can probably make a huge mess inside your cabin, that the room steward, who's already busy enough, has to clean up... Wow, that was a long sentence...

This is one of the reasons for getting a lido deck room. While I do this...It's usually only with late night pizza or deli sandwich...and the next morning I try to return the plate to the buffet area on my way to get coffee. Of course the official CCL position is for you to put it in the hallway with a napkin over the plate and there's a team of non-steward folks who go around and pick those up. Don't like a plate by your door? Put it by someone else's door.

Have a great birthday cruise, Sid!  I'll be happily following along and can't wait to see the food and Alchemy porn.  We leave Thursday, sailing out of Ft. Lauderdale next Saturday on the Magic.  Instead of getting my stuff together to start packing, I've been marathoning your adventures!  Wishing you calm seas and fair weather ahead.  Thanks so much for sharing with us.

When I got down to Alchemy, it was totally swamped... The only chairs available were on the outer tables. I knew that there was no chance at getting a "custom" drink sitting anywhere but right at the bar. I came up to Blue Iguana tequila bar and got a shot of Roca Patron instead... I may end up not going back to Alchemy until after the steakhouse tonight...

I spy with my little eye....my fave Sid shirt....you know, the light blue one with the cool pictures. I don't even need to look that closely now to know what they are!

I'm saving that one for the Chef's Table...

When we were on Horizon earlier this year the Alchemy Bar was always packed all 8 days of the cruise. First Carnival cruise where we never sat at the main bar at Alchemy the entire cruise.

Hopefully the cabins open up soon... I want to get rid of these bags...

Also, it just started pouring down rain... Cleared out the entire lido deck...

Pouring down rain before cabins are ready, I bet the areas under cover were especially crowded.

I decided to give Alchemy another try. I found a seat on the outer rim, and had a conversation with Armin, one of the bartenders. I explained my situation about the need for some real customized, one of a kind adult beverages... He said "I'm listening"... I told him about my love of tequila, and he was free to just go crazy... He said he would whip me something up... Then, this happened... Tequila, with what I perceive to be a hint of coconut? I'm not sure, I'll have to ask... It's good, though...

While I was up at the Alchemy Bar, a guy comes up and asks "are you Sid?" I said that I was... He seemed happy to meet me, and said that he and his dad followed my reviews... His name was Trey (possibly Tray?)  anyway, extremely nice guy. I'm sure I'll run into him again throughout the week...

My reservation is at the steakhouse soon, so I'll need another drink... After the nice tip for the last drink, all that's required is a wink wink and a nod, and he will work his magic... I asked if there was a name for the first drink or this one, but he said they're just his own special concoctions... Fair enough... This one turned out to be pretty nice... Borat would say "very nice"
