If someone were to ask what seats are best in a particluar Broadway theater, people who hate that theater should not reply because it is just static.

The OP will be a newbie and is not asking IF s/he should disembark. The negative responses are just static.

It's  only static to those that enjoy the area.  It's  obvious that you do since you decided to invest in a timeshare in the area.  Hope those annual perpetual maintenance  fees are somewhat reasonable for you.

One can not live on a diet of being positive all of the time, there is an opposite view on every given topic  that is needed to balance things out.  There is a reason that a high majority of cruisers stay on board when Nassau is the port of call that day.

@SNJCruisers  This is the first I have ever heard that being positive detracts from a conversation. Sorry I ruined it for you. I will try to be more negative in the future when someone asks about fun things to do.

You never ruined anything for me.  I live in a real world that consists of positives  and negatives regarding  any given topic.

I hope you enjoy the upcoming Tom Hanks film about Mr. Roger's.  It seems like it's  always  a wonderful day in your neighborhood.

No one has mentioned Cable Beach yet.  A 20 minute cab or bus ride from the port gets you to a great stretch of sand that has 3 hotels, restaurants and a casino adjacent to it.

There are many snorkel trips available a short boat ride from the pier - Nassau is the only place where I spotted a massive 3 1/2  or 4 foot sunfish.

Pearl Island excursions has a little bit of sun, sand and water as well as an included lunch.  Less crowded and way less $$$ than Atlantis.

I realize many cruisers are put off by the locals trying to get their attention and money, perhaps post Dorian their attitude may change, but the need for economic relief is greater than ever.  Do some research and get past the immediate port area and you might discover a better Bahamanian experience.

On our last visit to Nassau, we did a Walking Rum and Food Tour that I would highly recommend.  It basically told us the history of Nassau through rum.  I really enjoyed the history, the food, and learning to taste the difference between the rums.  It isn't a "get drunk" kind of tour but rather here is a bit of rum to fully understand the history of the island.

Thanks for this bit of information I looked into it when I googled rum and food tour it came up quickly we booked with islandz .They got great reviews and it looks like a fun couple hours I’ve been to Nassau And so have our two friends  but my husband has not. Looks fun and informative and a couple cocktails on the way !!

We are on the two week countdown!!!
