Rare Eli_6 Posted December 10, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 10, 2019 I already booked our excursions because they were selling out and you can only use OBC for purchases on board. (We are on a sold out Christmas cruise.) Neither I nor my husband are gamblers. DH doesn't drink other than an occasional beer with his meal and I certainly can't drink enough by myself to support cheers. Any ideas on what I can use it for? Steakhouse a couple of nights? Leave our cabin steward a really nice tip?
momof3cruisers Posted December 10, 2019 #2 Share Posted December 10, 2019 Go to the casino and load it to your player account and then cash it out.
NotTooCritical Posted December 10, 2019 #3 Share Posted December 10, 2019 Pictures, sundaes at Cherry on Top (if your ship has the sundaes), spa ( if not a full body massage, a foot massage will feel reeeeaaaally good after walking around in port all day), free cruise Bingo and momof3cruisers had a good idea about cashing it out in the casino too.

This is the way I would go! Just go to the slots and load your player bank by charging your room. Make sure you either play a couple of spins. Afterward, I suggest that you wait until the final night and go to the casino cashier and tell them you want to close your player bank and they will hand you cash.
coevan Posted December 11, 2019 #5 Share Posted December 11, 2019 not sure what ship, but a couple of Steakhouse dinners, a Chef's Table, Behind the Fun tour will eat up a good percentage of your OBC and all worthwhile.
TomCruise48 Posted December 11, 2019 #6 Share Posted December 11, 2019 We donate left over OBC to St. Jude. Can do this at Groove for St. Jude or through Cherry On Top.
Ellusionz Posted December 11, 2019 #7 Share Posted December 11, 2019 Can also go towards your tips if you didn't prepay them.
Gallivanting Souls Posted December 11, 2019 #8 Share Posted December 11, 2019 Check out the spa. I am sure you can find some needed treatments. You could also get your hair done. At the pay coffee location they have really tasty slices of cake. Maybe some nice coffees to go with it. You could do drinks ala carte, or check out all the drinks of the day. Maybe even buy a drink or two for a new friend! You could order room service late at night or the items for a fee. How about some souvenirs from the gift shop? Maybe even an outfit or two if you are feeling any of them! You can always cash out as someone mentioned earlier. You've got lots to spend. Have a great cruise!

Bevv Posted December 11, 2019 #12 Share Posted December 11, 2019 Check to see what kind of OBC you have... some kinds are refundable. For example if your TA gives you OBC it should be refundable. Spend only the nonrefundable credits and you will get the rest refunded. If some of the excursions you have booked are still available when you get on board you can cancel the prepaid ones and re-book them. Remove the prepaid gratuities and pay with OBC. I have gotten cash by using the slots in the casino.

I think they're all gone fleetwide. And you couldn't use OBC to pay the deposit on any cruise booked with them.

Wish I were in you shoes 🙂 I knew about it, but simply forgot because I booked this back in July. I was one of the cancelled Vista passengers from July when she had mechanical issues. I got about $6k in future cruise credit for the two rooms that were cancelled. I was booked in a Havana Wrap/Corner Balcony. When I rebooked for this Christmas sailing using the FCC, there was only a Havana Aft (which is less $ than the wrap balcony) so they let me have $500 in OBC for the difference in price between my FCC and the price of the room. (I had to pay more, though, for my kids' rooms which I just paid out of pocket so they don't have an OBC because their room actually cost more... probably because it is a holiday sailing.) The $50 was something else. Can't remember now. Maybe booking special.

I had 200 OBC that I had them equally divide among the 4 of us in the room.

Maybe booking special. t LOL, I have that same "mystery" . . . I went to my cruise manager and discovered the same thing. I'm also assuming it was because I booked the PANORAMA so early I got some kind of a discount. Now I've learned this cruise is also my 25th and I'll also get 25% OBC for the cruise also. Not a big spender, so wondering how I'm going to get "rid" of all these credits in a week. 🙂
