Life Boat Drills on NA Today

I loved watching the crew drills this morning on the lifeboats onboard NA in Nassau today!! It was very interesting to see the boats go into the water and back up again, plus it makes me feel extra safe knowing we are in good hands with this incredible crew. We are having an amazing time so far and we are only one day in!

I think laws require life boat drill once a week.

Does this mean the azipod is repaired? Any propulsion issues?

Pretty close! SOLAS requires a safety drill every seven days but that doesn't mean it's an 'abandon ship' drill every week where some of the boats are "splashed"/put in the water. One week it's a fire drill, the next week it's a fire drill that evolves into an abandon ship drill. It could be a MOB (Man Overboard) drill, a damage control drill, etc. Drilling never stops on a cruise ship

We have watched the lifeboats being put into the water for drill purposes quite a few times over the years.

First cruise I was on New Years 79-80 all life boats where lowered to the promenade deck & we had to wear life jackets to the safety drill. How times have changed.
