We are leaving tomorrow to drive up to VA, our only granddaughter will be 8 on Monday and I promised her we would be there for her birthday.   I’m not looking forward to the 12 hour drive up I95,  especially South Carolina which has the worse stretch of interstate I’ve ever driven on, but it is worth it to spend time with the grands.  Lois, I will wave as we go around Jacksonville!😂

Wave at me when you are between I40 and NC 264 in NC. I live about 50 miles west in Durham.

I went to the rink this morning and went straight to a friend's to help her pack. This is the one that lost her daughter in January. They decided to sell the giant house (3000+ square feet) and find something smaller. Of course, with the market being what it is right now, they'll get top dollar for their (less than five year old) house. They'll also pay top dollar for wherever they move to.  It's ridiculous right now.

OOTD: Athleta leggings, my last competition t-shirt, and an Athleta sweatshirt while I skated, but not while we packed. Tomorrow will be in the 80s, so it will be totally different. Danged spring weather.

Nothing special going on. Sitting here watching the snow fall (very light, just going to be all day) in my Athleta leggings & Athleta hoodie. I made kitchen sink soup in my crockpot yesterday, cleaned out all the leftovers in the fridge (pot roast, veggies). It was really pretty tasty, added a little Ditalini pasta. Going to make chicken mornay today.

Good looking soup!   I did a "whatever" soup/chili 2 nights ago - I had different kinds of beans, a can of diced tomatoes, bloody mary mix and some buffalo burger.  Enough for 2 nights.   Went well with Cali Red the first night and Duckhorn last night.

I scored well with our liquor divide yesterday:  2 $60+ bottles of Cabernet (the Duckhorn is excellent!!, next will be the Charles Krug Generations), some Modelo and some Blue Sky beer.    Too bad I don't drink tequila - there was a bottle of Don Julio Blanco and Herrosada  Reposado.  Our maintenance guy got those since it was his birthday (along with some Hendrick's gin).

We got about 7" of new snow up here at the resort, so that make everyone very happy.  Some folks got out there right away and got the freshies since they are 1/2 way up the mountain.  My college kids here even got up hung over and got some.  Happy faces all around.

OOTD:  "slacker" apparel:  my overalls, blue sleeveless T, my new jacket that is a wheat-color jeans shirtjack with "fisherman" knit sleeves.  Ohhh so comfy.  I wore the jacket yesterday and 3 ladies here fell in lust with it.  the overalls and jacket were my Valentines present to myself (thanks to some late tip money).  Couldn't wear the hi-tops today with the snow, so I'm wearing my gray wool chukka boots from Chacos.

I like Duckhorn, but my new favorite is Saldo (made by Prisoner). Mid 20s. We’ve been snowing since last night, they’re getting feet in the mountains & we have about 4-5” with it supposed to continue thru the night.

good lazy day. Pulled out the clothes I’ll take on our cruise (30 days, who’s counting) make sure no loose buttons, etc (everything fit, always a good thing!!). Melody

I'll have to hit the liquor store and see if they have Saldo.

Supposed to get more snow tomorrow.  Ugh

I just 2 women comment on my overalls - they loved them.   They really are freakin' comfortable.  I may end up taking them with my on my trip.

Hi girls,🙂 not sure if anyone likes Pinot Noir but I had a glass (A BIG ONE LOL) on Friday night........found my new favorite now. It is called J by J Vineyards out of California......actually, 3 sets of vineyards! Sonoma, Monterey AND Santa Barbara!  Really smooth and I am a regular at the restaurant I went to.....the staff all knows me and the bartender? I swear, this was close to a 12 ounce pour!....he just kept pouring LOL........took me a while to drink it all.

Melody, that soup does look good😃

Weather? It has been warm........been in shorts and a t shirt all day!

Lois, I like PInot Noir, I always gravitate toward Sebastiani; I’ll give J&J a try

good luck at doctor this afternoon; hoping for good news for you

I'm not a huge fan of Pinot Noir, but I do drink it. (I prefer Cabs and Italian reds).

When in doubt, Meomi Pinot.  Up here at the hotel resorts I worked at, it was the "house" Pinot.

I've got a 1/2 bottle of Line 39 Pinot sitting here that I get to take home.   It's nicely inexpensive, but it gets good reviews.  I'll be interested to see how it goes.

All by myself again at 2pm.  I give my new manager a major break as the company still has her doing her old job for 3 more weeks (same company).  I can always call her if I get in a bind.  Supposed to have another co-worker today (and yesterday) but she called out because of the snow (she has a old car with no snow tires and has to drive up from SLC).   She could have made it up today as it was nice and clear until about 5 minutes ago when it started to lightly snow.  Sigh.   I've got 2 more check ins and one of the condos is still getting cleaned - giving HK until 3pm then I'm getting mad.

OOTD:  my teal Athleta hoodie and my black wide leg yoga pants.  My gray Chaco shoes today because, hey, it's snowing!

Kat, it seems like you are working solo a lot. Hope management appreciates you. How far is your drive to the resort? Hope your drive home is an easy one.

Melody, that soup looks delicious-perfect for a cold day.

Figuring out all the stuff we need to take to MN. It’s not the clothes but all the other stuff that takes time to organize and then fit into 2 carry ons. I see that we will have cold days with some snow so that means cold weather gear. When we leave here on Thursday it will be in the 70’s so will need to stash jackets etc until we land at SLC. Yep, not liking some aspects of the remodel. Not enough gates yet for regionals so they park and pax take a bus to the ramp that takes you to level 2 of one end of Concourse B. It’s ridiculous! Then our mainline leaves from Concourse A and that mens walking to the middle of B and walking thru a tunnel to A and hoping that your gate is in the middle of A to shorten the walk because at this point you have easily walked a mile. Probably more. Moving sidewalks are ok but soooo slow.

OOTT-sweats, no make up!

Sharon

Hi girls, well, I need to see a Pulmonologist for the lung........seems I have multiple nodules AND I have some fluid around my left lung and the Dr said she really wants me to see a specialist. Tomorrow one of the nurses is going to call me about seeing someone. Seems when there is one lung, they said it is "normally 1 of 2 things"..........and one of those things can be a malignancy.  The other is a virus.......lets hope it is just viral!

As for the hysterectomy, looks like it will be either Friday April 1st or Monday April 4th.........I will know more about the exact date on Wednesday and should hear from the Dr about it. Lots of scheduling things.......and I think I mentioned they use this Robot and always depends on when it is available and when my Doc has a slot opened too.

So that was my afternoon😲

Well that's sucks, Lois.  just keep it positive and we'll all keep thinking positive thoughts for you.

Sharon - I do indeed seem to be working more solo.  I always did 4-7 solo.  But, with the new manager having to do this job AND her old one, she's just taxed too much.  She has to go to some other properties she's still responsible for and take care of issues.  As long as things don't blow up, I'm ok with taking some things on solo.  She tells me everyday that she's thankful that I'm here and she doesn't have to worry about the property.   As long as I have no management or supervisory duties, I'm good (been there, done that0  She's already asking me if I'll come back next Winter.  Some of the owners are doing the same.   Gives me something to contemplate over the Summer.

That pinot I picked up today isn't bad.  It went well with my quest and chips 😉

Just checked in to see if you had posted any news, Lois, and I have to agree with everyone, this really, really sucks!  So, fingers crossed that it is either a virus or just something innocent.

Well, here’s for a virus!!  Les was followed for lung nodules for 5 years (found when they did a chest X-ray before his colon cancer surgery). It was stressful as he’s a Vietnam vet & a former heavy smoker. After 5 years (testing every 6 months (needle biopsy or CT scan) they decided it wasn’t changing. We went out & celebrated. Hope your nodules are the same!!  Hope your robotic surgery goes well on either day!!
