The Kroger I frequent only has one checkout line that is not self service. Reminds me of "Saturday Night Fever". Maryann, you mentioned Sheepshead Bay in a previous post. I remember it as a beautiful area near Manhattan Beach. Coming from apartments in busy, bustling lower Manhattan, my friend and I would pick out our favorite houses on our walks from the subway to the beach. I remember going on a date to a club, Pip's, to hear Jose Feliciano. I remember it being next to Lundy's Seafood. So nice to share memories, not just mine, but everyone else's in here. Toby and I went to Pip’s in 1965.We saw Stanley Myron Handelman, the comedian.

We also managed to cash out all of our OBC in the casino, although I think there was some sort of fee involved. DW did it, so it wasn't clear what was involved. As far as I am concerned, it all works out in the end. That’s great, same here now I just have to pack. 😕 Did you see the girl in the WJ that was handing out plates with the plastic chicken? At least that’s what I think it was. 🤔
Rare ReneeFLL Posted October 17, 2021 #34203 Share Posted October 17, 2021 @Ocean Boy Mike said he was a little disappointed in you. He didn’t like the schedule AA gave him and thought you would take it over. Never heard from you. 😁 He sent me this so I don’t text him when he is napping unless it’s necessary. They normally don’t cram flights in like this, but they gave him the first 11 days off it’s not all that bad. My schedule for this week: Tuesday: nap around 3pm. Get ready for work at 6pm, leave around 7pm, Takeoff at 9:15pm. Wednesday: land around 7am, nap when I get home. Thursday: nap around 3pm. Get ready for work at 6pm, leave around 7pm, Takeoff at 9:15pm. Friday: land around 7am, nap when I get home, Covid test at 11:20, home. Saturday: Furniture delivery?!? Sunday: pack and back aboard at 1pm. 5

HBE4 Posted October 17, 2021 #34205 Share Posted October 17, 2021 So, I accidentally saw an episode of Below Deck. The Mediterranean one. Actually, parts of 2 episodes. I stopped off at a friends house and while waiting for them to finish up so we could go out to dinner, that was what was playing on the TV. At first, I thought this was horrible. How can anybody watch it? And the so-called drama seems so fake and manufactured. It seems like there are a few crew members that are not aware what their job responsibilities are. Then after a few minutes, I thought, well that is a nice looking yacht & the scenery is kinda spectacular. A few more minutes go by and I find the crew is ridiculously gorgeous & handsome in some of the tightest, most skimpiest outfits ever. I wanted to keep watching to see Capt. Sandy was going to tie Hannah to an anchor and throw her overboard. So, I plan to spend my Sunday binge watching past episodes to catch up. Each season is stand-along right? Thanks guys. My DVR is perpetually at 90% and all I need is another show to watch. Just Thanks. 5

Grandson’s football game was canceled, so it was a day to take it easy. Yesterday, we had our flu shots. They ask if you want regular or high test. so of course, I said the high test. I love how this knocks you out for a day with the side effects, but we will be better tomorrow We had our flu shots last week. They asked how old we were. We're not 65 and not eligible for the quadrivalent shot. So we received the triplex shot. No problem at all.

I have very fond memories from eating through Oahu... Pity we were there only a short time. We got there late afternoon on a Thursday, met my cousin who was already there a week ahead of us, and she said: "we tried different restaurants, and the best is CCF". But you can't book ahead.... I said: "OK, let's go". We waited 40 min, since we wanted a table outside, to feel "being in Hawaii". The meal was outstanding, one of the best we had. We decided right there that we'll go back on Friday night, the only other night we'll have in Honolulu, before boarding our cruise on Saturday. Friday - we spent touring Oahu, with a much anticipated stop at Giovanni's truck, to eat some very fresh and tasty shrimps. In the evening, we were back to CCF - again well worth the wait. I wish there was such a restaurant around here, even in Europe.... The truck -- With my cousin and her DH -- Nice photo Dani. Graham.

Not just restaurants but all the stores, manufacturing etc. My son is working 7 days a week because they can't get anyone to apply for the other position. Same over here, big shortage of lorry drivers, partly because no tests done during pandemic. Nearly every restaurant and most shops have 'we're hiring ' signs up. Furlough has now ended and there are record job vacancies

For high-tech jobs - big competition for every worker. DS1 was very lucky to find a high-tech job after being "terminated" as a FA, was very happy with entry level salary [which was twice that of a FA], and, after less than an year, he was called at Human Resources... To be told that they are very satisfied with his performance, and that his salary was too low... 1200$ more per month, without even asking....

Wow , big rise, well done to your son Dani 👏 It's great when we know our kids are doing well and are happy 😊 My youngest was not particularly academic at school but has a brilliant knack of getting on with people. He's got an amazing job now and twice in the last two years has won prizes to 5 star all inclusive resorts in the Caribbean and Bermuda. Unfortunately the first in March 2020 they were sent home after 24 hours because of covid (America closed its borders and that was the last straw for the company). They were in the air more than at the resort. And this year the Bermuda trip was cancelled, also due covid. Very interesting, trips abroad, "the works"... Covid -- started to work from home, didn't miss the daily commute.... and decided she had enough of the "high life".... At every family event, she was bringing her "share" -- small, delicious profiteroles. She now decided to leave the high tech and start her own small business, for now promoting on FB. Pls. take a look.... who knows, might be a good idea for you 😁

Rare island lady Posted October 17, 2021 #34223 Share Posted October 17, 2021 Heading to St. George Island (still in the Florida panhandle). Beautiful and remote...but being remote has it's price. No internet out there, and no cell phone service. Which takes using my cell as mobile hotspot out of the picture. Five days out there, Bucky loves the area...but I miss my "creature features". No TV signal either! 😮 Have a good 5 days everyone. Will be back into the actual world again by next Friday.

Working with wild animals is something I always wanted to do. I wanted to work at a zoo but life got in the way and had a different path. Now I can pick how many days a week I want to work and when. Gives me a place to talk with other adults and be productive plus work with the animals I love. It is really enriching my life now. I hope you find just the right thing for you.
