Have a great  trip OB.

I just stopped at the WW library to renew my card and they had covid tests.  I grabbed one kit for dh and I.  I woke up early this morning at 2:30  (with my dog's help that is) and decided to make our appointments for 2 weeks from today.  I mis-calculated, Friday opens tomorrow.  Back to bed, try tomorrow.  Only thing I am worried about is if my appt. at cvs gets cancelled.  I'm going to try to make an appointment somewhere else.  Worse case scenerio is we get on the plane and try to find a place in FLL and keep our fingers crossed..

I’m in the next town over (Coventry), wish I could figure out where to get them here.  I was at Target yesterday, noticed the lady behind me put a box of Binax tests on the conveyor belt. By the time I paid and walked back to the pharmacy area they were gone!  We were able to order two boxes online last night from Walmart that supposedly will be delivered tomorrow.  I’d just like to have some with us when we travel to FL soon.

Somewhere over the last 45,801 post there was a discussion about shows to binge watch.  I know there are several on here that liked Ozark.   Netflix just dropped the first part of season 4.  There are seven episodes now and another seven later in year for the final season of a great show.

I watched the first 2 episodes of Season 4.It is a great show.

I thought the 4th season wasn't picked up?

Funny story...growing up I HATED vegetables.  Raw carrots was all I'd eat.  When I was about 10, my mom and dad tried to make me eat peas.  Put 3 (3!!!) peas on my plate.  I refused.  I remember my dad telling me he'd put them in the middle of a peanut butter sandwich, I'd never know they were there.  I refused.  Sat there until 10:00 at night.  They finally gave up.

To this day, if I put a couple peas on a spoon and get them near my open mouth...gag reflex. Completely psychological at this point. 🤣🤢

The best way I have found to find them in our area is via the FB residents group for the community I live in.  Everyday there is a thread that gets started by someone looking for them and then people start posting.  Yesterday, Target, Stop and Shop and Wegmans all had hundreds of a brand I haven't seen before.  They were a single test for $9.  We have also found that Speedway and BP gas station convenience stores are carrying them for a higher price, but helped us when we needed them at Christmastime and could find none anywhere else.

I also found on this same FB group that they are giving out two boxes of tests that contain two tests each to residents tomorrow at our senior center.  I just had to signup for a time to drive by tomorrow.  This is the second distribution they are doing, first was for city employees only.

I can’t stand peas either.  Growing up I had to at least try everything that was on my plate at every meal, in case my tastes changed as I grew older.  Peas was about the only thing I was allowed to skip because my dad hated them as well.

Peas are like round green raisins @A&L_Ont 🤢

Schools here in SC announced on Wed they would be virtual today due to the forecast.  No more snow days.  It's raining here and mid 30s but just about everywhere is closed prepping for the weather.  Just hoping the power stays on.

Thanks for the "warning", a few friends have recommended it.

We lived just over a mile from my kids HS which meant they were at the end of the bus route and always seemed to get to school late.  I started dropping them off on my way to work, until they drove themselves, so they had time with friends before class.  I always said how interesting it was that the kids were driving nicer cars than I was.

For those Amazing Race fans, saw this earlier today with explanations of why some of the teams didn't return.

https://www.justjared.com/2022/01/20/heres-why-four-amazing-race-teams-didnt-return-after-hiatus-for-covid-19/

Thank you. Not surprised about the Love Island couple. And not missing them.
I hope we see some of the others in another season.

I was that way about summer squash. And, yes, I would sit there till bedtime. I didn’t care how good dessert was, or not being able to read till bedtime, I couldn’t eat it.
When I was a young mother, my neighbor said she made too much lunch and invited me over.
And there it was! Yellow crookneck squash! Now what!!

I said I had had a big breakfast, so I took some meatloaf, some home fries, and a teaspoonful of squash.
Well! Old dogs can learn new tricks!

My hostess had sautéed the squash in butter with a salt and pepper and it was heavenly. And I was cured!!!

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll have to see if there’s a community FB page for my town or for my neighborhood.

Just an FYI, you and this post does give me some inspirational hope for my eventual return to cruising, although that it still a long way off.  I'd probably want my first cruise to be solo, rather than with family/friends. Kinda weird, not sure why.

So here are my thoughts though I know they were not asked for. It is really important to not give up an activity that you both enjoyed doing rogether. Of course it will be different. Life is different when someone, or something, is lost but it is important to continue on or, in essence, two lives are lost and that would be a true tragedy.

Being on a cruise will bring back awesome memories of the times you two spent together on a ship. There will be sad moments of course, that is only natural. But the good memories will lift you and carry you on. I think initially going solo is very smart. It will give you time to deal with your thoughts, memories, and emotions without feeling as if you are obligated to be part of a family / friend group that you have to either contribute to or have to bury your emotions away in order to not bring the group mood down. And if you do spend your time concentrating on the group you will accomplish nothing as far as your own self healing. And if you have times when you just feel like chatting with someone, as you know, on a cruise cruise ship it is easy as can be to find people to talk to and interact with. Then when you have had enough you can retreat to your private thoughts not having to worry about how others view it. Life will never be the same. It can't be and shouldn't be. However, it will get easier. But only time will bring that about.

So, that is my take.... for what it's worth.

The easiest way, if you have an iPhone, is to airdrop them.  You just have to have both devices open and on the same Wi-Fi.   Depending on the ship, this will work with just the Wi-Fi that the royal app uses.   Another option is to just email the photos to yourself from your phone, then open the email on your iPad.

I am 10 pages behind already.

Thanks for the info. No iPhone. I have an S20 Galaxy. I tried emailing them to myself but it was taking to long. I don’t buy the faster internet, but maybe I should. 😁

Yikes. I would not be the responsible adult catching them either.

Unfortunately it would be me catching them. Mike will do almost anything except for when it comes to spiders.

A couple items not mentioned yet that I used a couple days  ago, pesto and roasted tomatoes. It was the first time for roasted tomatoes and it was great!  I make my own sauce so that is where plenty of garlic comes in.

While on Symphony we had obc of $1,099 through price drops.  After using some I was able to cash out around $900 on a slot machine .  You transfer money from your regular account to the casino account.  There was a $500 limit per transfer but you are not limited to one transfer.  Once transferred to the casino you can cash out any time.  The money you transferred from your regular account will be covered by the obc.

Thanks for the info. Pesto is definitely another good topping as are roasted tomatoes.

I had the same experience with corn.  Hated it growing up.  When I was about 25, I decided to just try a corn on the cob at a bbq.  One bite and I was like "OH MY GAWD, WHAT HAVE I BEEN MISSING?"  Now it's one of my favorite foods.

I have never used an I-pad but if it has a USB port it seems to me it should be easy to connect your phone to it and simply do a file transfer.
