The date and time will be posted in the Cruise Compass and at GS. It's hit & miss. Sometimes they're well attended, sometimes not. On our last cruise they had an informal get-together at the schooner bar everyday at noon. It was not sponsored by or headed up by the crew. Just a simple get together someone decided to put together. I didn't find out about it till the last day. I had neglected to look at the bulletin board at guest services where it was posted. It was not published in the Plan of the Day (Cruise Compass). Lesson learned: Always check the BB at GS on the first and second day of the cruise for possible events not published of the Compass. AlohaLivin Posted May 25, 2020 #130 Share Posted May 25, 2020 Heads up! 🙂 Any of you who are active or retired US or Canadian military members please check your cruise fares for changes. I lucked across an extra $600 military discount off a crown loft on Oasis for November (shocked us to be honest) that had not been there before today. 🇺🇸 Remembering those who have kept us safe through the ultimate sacrifice.

I went and checked our two cruises for Harmony Dec 6 and Dec 13. The 6th did not show the military discount but the 13th cruise did. However the cruise for the 13th turned out to be about $100 total for the room more than our last "re-booking" at a nice low price. We check all our booked cruises often. Every once in a while you can really find a savings! So far, we've lowered the cost for our two cruises on the Harmony this December for a total of about $600 from original booking date. We re-booked both cruises twice. Again, Thanks T Edited May 26, 2020 by 2chiefs
davekathy Posted May 26, 2020 #134 Share Posted May 26, 2020 This morning (25 May) we had a memorial at our Vietnam Memorial Wall (~80% replica) to honor all that have passed, that died in wars to serve our country, protecting our freedom and privileges. Then there was the bell ceremony to honor all the wars from the beginning of our country, from the Revolutionary war to the current conflict in Afghanistan.

I was able to find the panel that had the priest my last ship was named after, USS Capodanno FF-1093. Most are around 1/2 size but there's one permanent structure in Utah that is 80%, as is one of the traveling walls.

July 2018 the Vietnam Memorial Wall was finished followed by a dedication ceremony. Ours is a permanent monument. The Vietnam Memorial Wall is 80% scale of the monument in Washington DC, stands 9.5 feet at the apex and is 360 feet long. I was born in Hopkinsville not too long after my father was discharged... When we laid him to rest in 1997, he was wearing his 187th regimental tie, his blood wings, and his jump boots.. What I can not understand is why Royal never asks for proof. Princes requires proof and lists it with your profile for future cruises. I was on a Royal cruise once when someone was bragging that he always got the military discount and had never served in the military. As a retiree with 28 years of military service, I was shocked to hear him and I told him that. He did not care because Royal never asks for proof. Royal should ask for proof and then add it to the C&A profile.

One thing not sure of is when offered if there is limited number Military Discounts. Was 6-7 yrs ago I held a Cabin and while checking prices on similar cabin same sailing Discount wasn't offered. After Cabin was released Discount was available again. Put Deposit down and Discount again wasn't available. If limited number available and non-Veteran using one another could use, really sad. And that was yrs ago, might be different now...
