I know we've already been to Curacao but...

W is for:

Willemstad

No ships or boats visible on the second photo above but I'm sure you could buy toy versions on those market stalls!

The second picture shows our tour group getting up close to a very friendly pelican when we went for a boat excursion across the bay. There were lots of flamingos too

Someone is an excellent photogragher. The flying flamingos (sounds like a trapeze act😀) are wonderful.

I love the picture of the flying flamingos too (great idea for a circus act name!). My husband's hobby is bird photography and he has huge lenses. I'm very lucky because my passion is to see places and he wants to photograph every possible bird in the world so cruising and land tours give us both chances to follow our passions.

We were in Valetta on the day of my husbands 65th birthday as part of a Mediterranean cruise on Aurora in April 2019.It was also Aurora's birthday during the cruise. The 3rd photo shows the framed print that I had made for my husband for his birthday

Lovely idea.

I hope Mark had a fantastic 65th birthday.

Just come across this thread, thought you might like photos of super yacht ACE and its support ship ***** with the 'toys' on deck which we saw in Alesund on Oriana's last cruise

We were on that cruise too and saw these ships. The port official told me that the one nearest the port gate was for the crew!

My final set of Ws - Whitsunday Islands, NZ. We had a trip in a seaplane to see the Great Barrier reef from the air. The seaplane itself was a first for us and we had the added bonus of taking off and landing on both land and sea as we had to pick people up on the way. As we were the first to board this very small plane I got to sit at the front next to the pilot. It was a wonderful experience.

Photos are of Oriana, the sea plane, the Great Barrier Reef and Whitehaven Beach which was spectacular seen from the sky.

Lovely, my son is going through the process of buying a house in Whitstable and I am looking forward to visiting him there. We both enjoy that area so much and it's only just over an hour from where we live so I can get a taste of the sea without having to cruise.

Here’s a rather tenuous ‘W’ - Wight, Isle of. It’s the dark grey bit between the two other grey bits and behind Oceana, making her way down the Solent for the last time. Sorry about the poor quality of the pic, it was a wet and windy evening and we just sat in the car watching sadly. The only words we exchanged were ‘poor Oceana’.2E5BE711-EBF0-441C-87C6-6581A6A9D209.thumb.jpeg.f19a8abf9188a430063a4907785b92d6.jpeg

I'll take that, seems an ideal way to finish the W's and move on to X (if anyone has any!).

Or shall we just go for X, Y and Z together?
