Here is one taken in 1997, It's a tricky one, so here is a clue, we were a long way North.

I've found the 1997 itinerary, but is the QE2 anchored or sailing into port?

Scoresby Sound, Longyearbyen, Tromso, Trondheim, Hellesylt?

We were anchored, the picture was taken as we were waiting to board the tender to go back to the ship.  It's Longyearbyen.

Here is a picture of the school playground, complete with alarmed fence to keep out the polar bears.

I think I've finally found it! I believe this photo was taken at La Spezia, Italy. It looks like you were docked at the Molo Garibaldi pier with a view to the Molo Fornelli pier (with its red and white striped cranes) in the distance.

Yes. La Spezia. Delightful town.

Here's my contribution for today. Two photos from the same port. This is one of those cases where the port is located outside the main city center (about 2.5 - 3 miles out in this case), so there isn't much of the city itself to see here. But give it a try without any further hints at this time.

Reykjavik. Wouldn't have got it from the second photo but it confirmed my thoughts about the first.

Correct. That's the Skarfabakki pier for Reykjavik. The second photo happens to be from the boat that was taking us out on a puffin watching tour.
