Dining with classes

Went into carnival hub to purchase some upsale dinner options, and a huge list of dinning experience to purchase showed up. Does anyone know anything about these options which seem to be classes that teach you to cook and then you eat dinner that you cooked maybe.

They offered it on the Panorama in January.  They have a separate, dedicated classroom/kitchen for these.  They seemed really popular, we could not get into any of the ones we wanted.

Carnival Kitchen. Only on Panorama so far.  Haven’t tried any.

The Carnival Kitchen classes are great.  We did three on our Panorama b2b.  It's a lot of fun and a lot of food.  My cruise buddy ended up buying a pasta maker when we got back and uses it all the time

Has anyone seen if this will be on the Mardi Gras?

You aren't preparing a dinner it is a dish or dessert or.... at least most of the classes. Some classes are longer and maybe.... There is a big dinner table.

 

And you can get to it without having to walk through the casino on Panorama.

They are offering these classes on the Vista on January 16th. At least its on my options to purchase unless they messed up.

Speaking for myself, I am allergic to smoke so it's not fun to have to walk through the Casino......

I did the sushi 101 and Pit BBQ session. It was more fun than education. The sushi was what I call the pedestrian variety, being rolls aimed squarely at American palates. The fun part was watching the knife skills of the other guests. 

 

The pit BBQ taught how to prepare the meats for cooking, and basic sauce techniques. I never knew all the things that went into the sauce. It does take many hours to smoke BBQ, so when the meat was ready for cooking, it was collected and taken into the crew kitchen, and they came back out with a finished product.  Just like on TV cooking shows. It was so delicious, and messy, as good as life gets. 

 

All the sessions were sold out, so book ahead if you have the slightest interest. On Panorama in January the crew was having as much fun teaching as the guests learning.
