LB cigar lounge and Vintages?

Is this area near the front of Liberty still a cigar lounge or has it been turned into something else, please? How about Vintages? I know there were plans to change that to a differently themed bar. Haven't been on LB or RCI at all in more than 3 years and now considering LB again when cruising restarts.

Deck plans still show the Connoisseur Club and Vintages  🙂

I’m not aware of any active smoking allowed indoors except the Casino.

I don’t think cigar smoking is permitted in the Casino.

Freedom and Voyager ships had a cigar lounge on deck 5 forward. Over the years, this space has evolved into DL, card room, or Library.

Liberty deck plans still show her to have a cigar lounge like Ryan mentioned

As a frequent cruiser, are you aware of any indoor area on Royal ship where cigar smoking is permitted?

Currently? It’s not a trick question. Prior to no sail order.

Yes, prior to March.

I don't think they closed them down as a backlash against cigars, well maybe Voyager, but as a money grab to add more cabins elsewhere. Some were removed as a result of changing the VCL DL to the SL

Ok. I stand corrected. I thought the plan was to add cabins in those areas. My bad.

yes, the old CL's became cabins, but some of the Voyager ships had an Izumi added to the VCL where the card room was, so they changed the DL to SL and moved the DL down to deck 5.

Card rooms were where the SL was created on Freedom ships, not sure where card room is on Liberty. We should have sailed her in April😥

Got to meet some interesting people in the Connoisseur Club. Me the retired cop and my son the detective got a good laugh after meeting these gems in the club.

We missed it, but I remember the news coverage

Our 2016 Freedom trips were March and August

Thanks for all the info. I know the deck plans show these venues, but deck plans aren't always up to date. The cigar lounge on LB is quite nicely appointed. Too bad I don't smoke cigars! If smoking becomes banned in the RCL casinos, that will be one good thing to come of covid19.  One of the reasons we have lately cruised only X is the smoke free casino. Card room on LB is where concierge club used to be.

I went in there last November with my son’s FIL who smokes cigars.  The stench and smoke was so bad, I wanted a power wash and a hit of pure oxygen when I came out.
It was full of cigarette smokers as well as cigar smokers.

The last time we were in there on Freedom which was a few years ago there were only a couple of cigarette smokers and the air wasn't bad at all. We did a Princess many moons ago and there cigar lounge was brutal. My eyes were watering.

I am a cigar smoker - I love the lounge but don’t enjoy the cigarette smoke in there.  Cigar smoke is aromatic and relaxing to me - cigarette smoke is not.

Granted it won’t really matter since these lounges are disappearing!

We did a B2B Caribbean cruise on the Freedom March 2019. I walked into the Connoisseur Club just to check it out. Very nice room but full of cigarettes smokers. I was under the impression the Connoisseur Club was for cigar smokers.

They have always had a large group of people smoking cigarettes in there on all the voyager and freedom class ships.

I remember way back when Michales Club on Celebrity ships was dedicated for cigar smokers only. I assumed the RCs Connoisseur Clubs were the same.  Since I'm an X-smoker (29 years) I guess I shouldn't have complained about the cigarette stench as that is one of the designated smoking areas, at least for now.

I pulled directly from the RCI website.   Even clicking on the May 2021-April 2021 deck plan link, it still shows the Connoisseur Club and Vintages yet the Connoisseur Club is gone from RCIs deck plans for Freedom of the Seas. I am guessing on Liberty's next major drydock, the Connoisseur Club will go away, whenever that is.

Yes, I’m sure it was to be eliminated on the next enhanced dry dock.
