Satoshi - ex Pacific Dawn sold for scrap.

The new owners of Satoshi [ex Pacific Dawn] have been thwarted in their attempt to start up a floating hotel business off Panama City.

The ship has been reported as sold for scrap at Alang, India.

Apparently they couldn’t get insurance and the certification. I read because it had a engine .

 

Best place for it.

Sailed on her twice with P&O. Not a great ship. To tell the truth, barely adequate, but she did the job.

 

She was often the only choice out of Brisbane.

 

The scrapyard is the eventual fate of all ships that stay afloat. It's either that or the bottom of the ocean. Just remember that her steel will now go into bridges, buildings or even new ships. 🙂

How sad ye olde Regal Princess, she was a great ship. Then butchered to become Pacific Dawn. Where is the tiger?

 

We had 30 days on Regal, Sept O7, Last trip she had, LA to Sydney.

Those people in the sub continent scrap yard will find it in the ship's hold, melt it down into gold bars and live like Kings.lol.

She is sitting in Colon right now, awaiting transit through the Panama Canal.  Unfortunately, no canal webcams are working.  EM

After bunkering alongside at Colon - she has returned to the anchorage.

If going to Alang - Satoshi will go across the Atlantic then via Cape of Good Hope to India.

Satoshi is waiting for sailing orders at Cristobal anchorage, Panama - her sister ship Karnika ex Pacific Jewel, has been waiting off Alang, India for a month.
