Even though we did get the vaccination several months ago, we are seriously considering canceling the cruises with RCL.  Do not want to be on any ship that bows to every tinhorn governor.

Couldn't agree more..

That’s because at large sporting events they are separating vaccinated and unvaccinated attendees. And 5 days walking around Universal is way different than being on a ship for 7 days or longer among thousands of people.

Only in certain states do the separate the attendees.   And again, I don't agree with you but I thank you for your opinion.

Maybe that positive test came because the person had to fly to get to a ship.  Why do the people who object to getting a vaccination made to be the bad people.  Even if you have been vaccinated you can get, give the virus.  Maybe the un-vaccinated person got it from you.  First we should wear a mask, then no mask, then a mask, then 2 masks.  AT what time do we hold the government accountable for the dis-information they have been giving since day 1, not to mention the news media.

And each day more and more comes out.  It's very sad.  Many are losing faith in the system

Apparently you didn't listen to Mr. Fain latest video, go ahead and check it out I will wait.

I read quite a few articles and listen to Science trying to make the best decision for us.  Everyone is doing their best to figure this virus out and there are no perfect answers.  Don't want to keep you up, so don't wait up.

So you believe others statements of how Royal Caribbean cruises are going to function over the CEO of the company.   Thank you for admitting that you just want something to be upset about.  I will enjoy my cruises I hope you find something to enjoy as well.

Vaccinations prevent the spread of covid-19. I'm not aware of a single completely vaccinated person transmitting the disease. If you have links to documentation of such a case I'd be interested.

The only people I know that are losing faith in the system are those predisposed to doing so.

Well the science people say it is possible.... so faith is something we all could use.

Can you provide a peer reviewed study that shows that vaccinated people have been contagious and given the virus?  Probably not. I don’t think it’s a known factor either way.

Studies have shown vaccinated people who do get the virus are typically asymptotic and usually only discover they are positive because of required asymptomatic testing for a job, college, etc.

Either way, to state vaccinated people who do get covid can be contagious and give the virus to others *might* be true. Maybe not. Odds are certainly lower.  Lots of disinformation both ways.

I hope folks who state they-will cancel will start soon especially those in suites so we can book some more cruises soon.

Check out cruises a few days before final payment is due. That’s when we will make our decision.

  • No sites, but why then did CDC say even though you are vaccinated you need to wear a mask because you can still get Covid and it is possible to it is possible infect someone.  The huge problem I see is that the all the information changes daily as did Fauci"s  stand on masks.  It is hard to know who to believe or disbelieve.  After so many turn arounds from the Administration I certainly do not believe them.

This is a safety issue, not a human rights or liberties issue.

My right to be safe and enjoy a vacation should not be trumped by people refusing to get vaccinated and wanting the same treatment as those that are.

This is a bait and switch. We all booked cruises under the policy of vaccines. Now they just decide to change it?  Irresponsible and unconscionable.

WOW.......52 LIKES so far. That is the most LIKES I've seen for any post.

Congrats @Kokomo91165

The most recent guidance from the CDC does not say that. In fact almost the opposite.

It is obviously difficult for you to accept that advice may have to change as new data is collected. But this is how science advances. Chosing to reject new data and any advice that results seems foolish to me.

Thoroughly disgusted by Royal Caribbean's latest decision not to require vaccinations. Just curious how many people Royal can expect to cancel their cruises in the near future if the this dangerous policy stays in place.

Jonathan

I will not book Royal again, and I will let anyone and everyone who is anyone at Royal Caribbean know why. I am also insisting on a refund for all of the FCC I have accumulated, and will dispute credit card charges if they refuse. I will get my money back one way or another.

I am vaccinated and more than comfortable going on a ship that has unvaccinated people on it.  I think more than enough people are comfortable and ready to cruise again.  If you are not comfortable then you should not be going and choose another line that works for you.

That’s all good and well but how about the people who live on these islands the ships visit? Do you think they’ll appreciate potentially thousands of unvaccinated foreigners possibly spreading infection? Most of these places don’t have the resources to deal with such outbreaks. RC’s decision is crazy. Outrageous really.

We will continue to cruise regardless. Y'all are welcome to stay home if you don't want  to cruise. Your choice is entirely yours and yours alone.

The arrogance of this ^ though.
I really hope ports refuse to accept RC ships and other lines’ ships if they don’t require full vaccination. These islands don’t need us showing up, spreading a potentially deadly virus.

Some vaccinated people do get the virus as it is 90+% effective meaning there is room to get infected which has been already found to be true.

There are other websites reporting vaccinated people being infected by the virus.

I definitely think the majority of people will have the vaccination anyway as most adults have but there will be ones who don't have it.... and my family and I are 100% cool with it.

What we would not be cool with is still having to socialising distance and wear masks. getting the vaccine should mean we don't need to do those things. Children shouldn't need to get the vaccine so I really am pleased if Royal Caribbean stick with this.

I do believe other cruise lines will now follow with this.  there just needed to be the one to start it. Bring on the cruise experience we all know and love

The vaccination status of others will not affect my choice to cruise. The only reason the coronavirus affected it is because they were shut down.

exactly.... when I am on a cruise I am there to enjoy every minute of it... why would I be thinking about whether someone has the vaccine or not....

I didn't realize Royal is such a chicken! I'm throughly disgusted Royal caved & I want my full money back for my Jewel sailing! It was booked with the fact the whole ship would be 97% Vax! Anyone called yet?

I dont think Royal are "chickens"  I think they were brave to be the ones to do what makes sense. we can't keep living our lives in fear. They are a business and they are trying to make ends meet and I think they are correct to give everyone a chance to go on a cruise should they wish.

Several people were saying those who don’t want a vaccine don’t have to cruise and can wait. It’s funny seeing the sides now reversed. Sadly, still no empathy. Wish would could just respect each other’s decisions, understand life always carries some risk, and move on.

-Vaxed but believe it should remain an unrestricted choice.

absolutely
