Vaccine Required! For July in Galveston

DeSantis is against businesses denying services based on vaccination status.  He is for the cruise lines opening up and fought for them with the lawsuit.  Now there is the issue of the CDC making different cruising requirements based on vaccination status, even though they haven't made those same requirements for the airlines and other forms of transportation.

Hotels, bars, restaurants, and other businesses serve everyone equally and not based on personal health information.

You know full well that there is a difference between a cruise and all the other those other options you listed.

Everyone needs to consider taking a passport, even on closed loop itineraries. Can’t fly home without it.

A cruise with tested passengers can sail at reduced capacity and use the same protocols as hotels, amusement parks, airlines, bars, and restaurants, all of which don't even require a covid test or proof of vaccination.

The only difference between this amusement park and the cruise is that cruises have to be responsible for the passengers for the length of the trip and report sicknesses. Many of the people in this picture will be here for a week also just like a cruise. How many people have caught it at Disney? Of course we will never know, but this is the reason an outbreak on a cruise ship should not stop cruising. The outbreaks are happening from this gathering at Disney also, but for some reason it is a cruise ships fault and responsibility and not Disney's.

Also, at the land border (Tijuana, El Paso, etc), there is no testing required to re-enter the US.  It's a great workaround if you test positive and need to get home quickly.  Fly to Tijuana, cross the land border bridge on foot, continue onward to anywhere in the US from San Diego.

Pretty sure the land border is closed to all but essential travel.  With ideas like this, land borders ought to remain closed indefinitely.

Your suspicion is incorrect.  If you are a US Citizen presenting at the US land border, you are admitted without a test and it doesn't matter how you happened to end up in Mexico.

But that "only difference" is a key one.  If COVID is spreading in the photo you shared, no-one will know in a week, after they get home, where they got it - was it at Disney, or that souvenir shop on the strip, or one of the restaurants visited during the whole week?  The only way to find out is through thorough contact tracing, which is impractical (and anathema to most Americans).

 

Any by the time they all find out, the park is full of completely different people, and little chance chance to continue to outbreak.

 

On a ship, all 3000 or more people are tightly co-located, so source and spread are obvious.

Well maybe if they were all inside my spacious balcony cabin the source and spread would be obvious 😁.  Not so obvious as they spread out.  Also 3000 may be the number of total passengers but spread would only be to the portion that are unvaccinated and only IF they came into contact with the source for the required length of time necessary for viral transfer.  I think we need to get away from equating what was then to what is now.  That seems to be the main issue the CDC has is differentiating between the past and the present.
