Goodtime Cruizin Posted June 10, 2021 #1 Share Posted June 10, 2021 (edited) I have a feeling there is more bark than bite on these message boards. I'm sure a few have, but I seriously doubt all this talk and posting about RCL and vasccinated cruising. I think most are venting their frustartions. You can't quit Royal.... and you know it. Message board warriors are fun! Edited June 10, 2021 by Goodtime Cruizin 2
Jimbo Posted June 10, 2021 #2 Share Posted June 10, 2021 I might if I didn't have money tied up with unrefundable deposits.............believe me if I had refundable deposits I most likely would look elsewhere.Other people have ton's of FCC, what are they suppose to do, just let them expire and go to another cruiseline, very unlikely. I wouldn't be booking any new cruises right now with Royal Caribbean that's for sure.
Ride-The-Waves Posted June 10, 2021 #3 Share Posted June 10, 2021 I wouldn't book a cruise on a Carnival ship if they were the only cruise line in existence. We do cruise on Princess... 2
ArthurUSCG Posted June 10, 2021 #4 Share Posted June 10, 2021 Nope, I'm not looking for a 6 day booze cruise, but I am looking at NCL or Princess for the next adults only trip.

We did NCL for our Anniversary in 2019, unless we truly want an Itinerary that we cannot get with Royal or Carnival for that matter we probably won't do them again. We have never been early to bed but the evenings were so dull we spent alot more time in our stateroom in the evenings then ever before.

It's for an anniversary and will likely be spending time in the stateroom.😉 We also aren't big party people and are happy to sit and sip a good drink and watch the sunset.
Rare BecciBoo Posted June 10, 2021 #7 Share Posted June 10, 2021 We both vowed never to return to Carni after our first cruise with them...not for us in any way shape or form. Different strokes for different folks.

We love the big NCL ships but had a similar experience on the Sun . We took the last cruise before Covid shut everything down. It had no nightlife except the casino and a show that was so bad that we left. On Epic and the Breakaway class we have always had an amazing time! Shows, breakout game shows, dueling pianos, yada yada . Sun was out first of the smaller NCL ships . when our "Joy" cruise from Jamaica for September was cancelled last month many jumped onto Sky. We were paying less than 4K for a suite on Joy; the same suite on Sky was 8k. Smaller ship, less to do, double the price. Nope! That's when I booked Symphony . Well seee how this goes.😀

CCL has a certain clientele they attract and market for, and that's not who I want to cruise with. 3

We have cruised with them for anniversaries alone and also with the kids. (When they were kids. Now they are 20,22,22 and I don't know when we'll be able to cruise all together again. ) And we love the Royal bigs with the family as well.

We are used to Howl at the Moon and it doesn't matter where you sit you can see the action. on Breakaway not so much. The shows were okay but I prefer Royals, it just wasn't alot to do if you didn't have a show to go.

The food was horrendous- we found ourselves ordering roast beef sammich to eat in our stateroom. We practically ran off he gangway when we hit St Thomas just to get a decent meal! I don't remove much else . Just needing food.

Janet524 Posted June 10, 2021 #19 Share Posted June 10, 2021 How many RC cruises have I cancelled and rebooked on Carnival....Approximately ZERO. I'm not really their demographic, being a responsible adult.

soremekun Posted June 10, 2021 #21 Share Posted June 10, 2021 (edited) There are very few ships on Carnival worth sailing. I'd say Vista class and newer only. Also, hopefully things will be somewhat back to normal after the CSO expires. Edited June 10, 2021 by soremekun
Iamcruzin Posted June 10, 2021 #22 Share Posted June 10, 2021 I'm not a fan of Carnival or NCL but we have little choice in the Northeast so I would consider them now because they are sailing fully vaccinated. However, Celebrity would be my first choice. Princess has no presence in the northeast except for Canada / New England and we know those aren't happening. toocruisin2 Posted June 10, 2021 #24 Share Posted June 10, 2021 So far our traveling party is happy with the clarifications coming from Royal; we are all vaccinated. Under the current Royal Policy (which will evolve and change) we will sail on Anthem this coming December, on NCL next May and on Carnival in Sept 2022. For us, no need to change anything.
Rare TravelBluebird Posted June 10, 2021 #25 Share Posted June 10, 2021 Such an interesting thread! I’m one of those rare people who can be completely happy on a luxury cruise (Regent), Royal Carribbean, and Carnival (I’ve done all 3). Would cruise on all 3 again, but would not on NCL which we just didn’t enjoy. I always have a blast on Carnival. I’m a light drinker, and my hubby doesn’t drink at all. We always go with friends. Love the comedy club, karaoke, we enjoy the food (mostly). Love the informal, friendly atmosphere and value for the money. That said, our 1 Royal cruise was fantastic (Pride of America); we did their suite experience and felt very spoiled, and would not hesitate to cruise with them again. We actually had a cruise scheduled on Regent which got cancelled due to the pandemic. We decided to use the money (very spendy) to do some house improvements AND book 2 Carnival cruises (1 short cruise in a suite and 1 Panama Canal cruise in a balcony), and we still had money left over. Looking forward to Carnival and just getting back on the seas; we are fully vaccinated and really want a fully vaccinated cruise, but we SEE you Royal, and we’ll catch you again down the line once the pandemic further recedes.
