Even though Princess said anyone booked by June 6 could access the dining time feature even if not paid in full.

Caribill !  I just tried it again and this time it worked! I have been trying it every single day.  We have nightly reservations in the Juneau dining room.

That sounds like another bug in their programming.  You are paid in full and they should simply trigger the dining feature based on final payment DATE rather than whether or the cruise is paid in full.  If the cruise wasn't paid in full as of the specified date the cruise would cancel.  By the way, this would only be for the groups that do not have immediate access to dining.  Those in full suites, Elites, and Platinum members do not have to wait to reserve dining.  So if you fall into any of these categories, that should override the status of the payment from the casino.

Thank you!  I just tried again and it worked! I have been trying every single day. I am Elite so do you think that made a difference?

I wish they would make it to where we can use our onboard credit to book the specialty dining online. I had to pay a $200 deposit per person that is refundable as onboard credit. We have everything included so what else do we have to use that for besides specialty dining? I have done every shore excursion that I choose to on this itinerary already.  I’m not big on shopping onboard because I have every store that I need in my area.

Glad it worked for you.  I guess it's not the first time one of the phone CSRs gave the wrong information!

As for your OBC, use it in the casino if you don't expect to buy anything onboard.  It's essentially a refund of your deposit so there should be no issues with using it that way (and to be honest I haven't run into an issue for this before anyway).  Also, if you're using Princess transfers, you can wait until you are onboard to book them instead of buying ahead of time.  And you could splurge last minute on another dine in a specialty restaurant.  Those are all of the things that I plan to do with my $200 for the "free" casino cruises that we had booked.

Except on cruises where many passengers booked with a perk of specialty dining, there has not been in the past a need to book (and pay for) specialty dining in advance of embarkation. The demand that would fill up all desirable specialty dining times is just not there.

Great ideas, thank you. Did you book the Discovery for your  Casino Cruise?

We have probably been on one of those cruises before then because we have had problems booking specialty dining times that we wanted.

No, the Diamond and Island are the "free" cruises next year.  Well somewhat free - we paid the upcharge to a mini suite.  Our two cruises this year (Majestic and Sapphire) use the casino discounts and come with free play too.  Majestic is the newest ship we have been on.  Had a couple cancel on the Sky during the "pause".

I am also Elite and I agree with you that it doesn’t make any difference.

It’s been my experiences with the MC app that things can change when refreshing...it’s still a work in progress. 😉

Thankfully I was able to make DMW reservations for our 3 cruises in 2021/2022. Although still waiting for Discovery to officially be shown for our Spring ‘22 cruise from LA even though I could make our daily MDR reservations. 👍

We got the Discovery for our “free” cruise.  We booked the Majestic using a discount.  The Sapphire was my first Princess cruise and she holds a very special place in my heart. I love that ship.  Enjoy!

I noticed that too on my Discovery cruise that it doesn’t show the ship name.  My CVP told me that the cruise will definitely happen (unless something bad happens but we’re not going to go there).

Congratulations on making your dining reservations for all 3 of your cruises.  Did you get the same excited feeling that I had?  😊🎉

Interesting, we have exactly the same issue. Four cruises booked, three show the ship name correctly, but our trip on the Discovery in October 2022 has the ship's name (which it refers to as a "property") is also missing.

Hmmm.  I was thinking if cannot book Specialty Dining when you have a free credit, okay.  I can live with that and wait until embarkation as never had a problem getting space.  BUT, if we are going to be able to book ahead using DMW and "pay" with a free credit, makes things different due to all the promotions.  Makes me think we need to figure out which nights to book Sabi's or CG.  Now, that could be a challenge as I sometimes go by menus and they won't be posted yet.  Hate to miss a fave dish in the DR.  Haha.

My roommate works for Princess IT in Seattle (not the medalion group) and he says there are tons and tons of tickets open for known issues. I just had to call IT because my clients email gives an "invalid number" when we try and check her family in! So many issues! They are trying to migrate so much stuff to the medalion ap. I'm not surprised there are issues, just dissapointed. I'm trying not to touch it for a week or two to let the glitches get fixes. If you can put it off it might save your sanity.

And that is how my Personalizer has appeared for at least a month now not only for our August cruise, but also three subsequent cruises through October of next year.  So some of us have been actively invited to use the app while others get the "coming soon" message.  And it's clearly still buggy so that's why those of us told by Princess to use the darned thing are so frustrated.

I know you and a lot of others are frustrated and confused.  Hopefully, things will work out for everyone
