Now, the pink flamingo.....  My DBIL was ranting one time about people who put pink flamingos in their yards.   So, for Christmas that year we all bought him pink flamingos.  He even got one that lit up.

When that was listed on the 'days' celebration - that was the first thing I thought of. Here in Florida - with all the ornaments in the yard - especially the trailer parks. I refused to have flamingo in my yard - just being ornery - I guess. 😄

Before COVID, we visited New York once a year to visit our DD & SIL. We have also arrived or departed there on three BHBs,  Rotterdam VI, in 2002, 2003 & 2004, Veendam, in 2011, and Zuiderdam, in 2018.

Thanks to all for the birthday wishes!

As we were getting ready for dinner, I started rocking slowly from side to side.  DW asked what was up?  I said, I am pretending we are on a BHB getting ready for dinner 🙄

So here is an image of "stateroom 316"

Good afternoon all, I hope everyone had a great day, especially our birthday boys🎉.

I’ve sailed from New York many times on our BHB. Nothing like sailing past Lady Liberty 🗽
Blessings and prayers to all on our lists.

The cardiologist visit was not a lot different from expected.  I am not back to where I was in January but a lot better than April.  The term was roughly "From a severe leakage to a mild to moderate leakage".  The bad news is she still wants me to do 3 months of cardiac rehab.  The appointment for that is July 2.  It is 3 times a week so that pretty much precludes any summer travel unless I get a reprieve.

I am amazed.  I did get the front porch sealed.   Car wash, back deck scrubbed and front sealed despite having to visit different stores all over northeast Ohio looking for what I wanted.  YEAH!!!!

Well Roy I do pray that you will continue to heal and I know your faith will get you through this.

Like so many we are so fortunate during this pandemic that we weren’t one of the victims during these past two years.

We just miss cruising! It is what it is!

Happy birthday to @rafinmdRoy and @VMax1700Colin.  It would be nice to acknowledge your special days in a MDR on a BHB

Sadly, I don't expect that to ever happen.  The Fire Department fiscal year ends June 30 so it isn't a good time for me to be away.

Good afternoon, all! My apologies for being so late to the party. Today is the last normal day before the heat wave rolls in, and I’ve been doing meal prep and air conditioner filter maintenance. It is gradually rising to a forecast high on Monday of 42 Celsius, or 107.6 Fahrenheit. That is unprecedented here. We would rather be on Salt Spring, but DD from Taiwan arrives Friday and leaves the quarantine hotel Monday. If her results are in sooner, she could leave earlier. The negotiations  to get them to provide meals that fit her dietary requirements has been fought and won before her arrival. It ended with the understanding that we had all been on the page all along, and no battle ever took place.
I hope we can get to the island much sooner, as the forecast isn’t nearly as hot. We shall see.
A very Happy Birthday to @rafinmd Roy, and @VMax1700 Colin. Many happy returns of the day!

The heat has done the garden a lot of good. Here is the bouquet lily today.

And of course, Happy Wednesday, which I have been allowed to post today.

That sounds like a nice alternative to cruising.  Still, I do love cruising and being on the water.

You should check out some of the Canada/New England cruises that include the Atlantic Coast down to Florida sometime for a nice cruise.  We just have to wait for Canada to open up again.  Our cruise stopped in Maine, Boston, NY, Charleston and Key West before ending in Tampa.  Some of them just stop in Miami or Ft. Lauderdale.  Great trips not too far from home.

Beautiful pictures!  We had preliminary plans to take a cross country Amtrak trip in a sleeper and spending several days in New York, but Covid interrupted those plans.

You probably don't have the vacation time now and I don't think HAL does this very often but if you could I think Amtrak to New York and a BHB New York to Seattle or even San Diego would be a great experience.
