volk904 Posted October 15, 2022 #26 Share Posted October 15, 2022 I went to the link and submitted a PDF Copy of my 100 shares of stock. The credit was on my planner when I checked about 3+weeks later. Pretty simple process.
UniPac Posted October 15, 2022 #27 Share Posted October 15, 2022 (edited) I filled the online form & uploaded proof of my shares, took only few days until I received an email "Guest Invoice for Reservation...." from Celebrity with a PDF attachment that included a guest copy of our booking showing all the perks and OBC with the first page of the PDF dedicated to the shareholder benefit which has been applied. The OBC in my cruise planner also shows the addition. Edited October 15, 2022 by UniPac
NJ Gal Posted October 15, 2022 #28 Share Posted October 15, 2022 Interesting reading all of the comments. For our cruise coming up at the end of October, we submitted all requirements, got an email stating that it had been received. Next, we got another email stating that the amount would be credited, but would not show up on our planner until we are on the ship. This is not how it has worked for us in the past. When did this change take place? Has anyone else had this issue? Evelyn

Simply make a copy of the email and if on your second day on board the OBC does not appear then take the email to customer service. They will credit your account very quickly. Our credit in August was there when we boarded.

Evelyn Mine showed up in Cruise Planner the day after I received the invoice, but mine were for cruises in December out to 2024 Not sure when you applied but I believe if you apply within 2 weeks (may be 3) of the cruise they apply it on-board. I found the same if you cancel an excursion within a certain windows the credit is applied while onboard instead of back to your OBC or CC. Just checked again and the OBC for stock was posted yesterday. Just another thing to cross off my list before we cruise on the Beyond.

Lastdance Posted October 20, 2022 #37 Share Posted October 20, 2022 (edited) Also, check when you get onboard; it is day 4 and even with my hard copy, I still do not have it credited to my account. I had issues even before my cruise, as I was told that it “”fell off.” However, my cruise is awesome, so just a first-world problem! The list is shown on Celebrity or RCCL shareholer credit.. By a Google search. Sorry cannot post the list using my phone.

So, if I’m reading your comment correctly, you applied for and received the RCCL stockholder credit for cruises into 2024. I usually make the request about 3-4 weeks in advance of a cruise. I am surprised they would grant the OBC going out 2 years, basing it upon your current stock holding. What if you were to sell between now and when the cruise takes place? Since all shareholders are registered, it is very easy for RCCL/X to check electronically if an individual shareholder has sold or not. It's an OBC, so easy to hit the delete button if cruiser no longer a shareholder. I see not downside to RCCL/X to grant OBCs out to 2024. (We have been granted our shareholder OBC for our April 2024 cruise, as well as 10 earlier cruises in 2022 & 2023 🙂. )

Yes, I not only have emails confirming our OBC for the next 11 cruises but when I checked our account online, I can see those additional OBCs.
AlohaChuck Posted October 26, 2022 #46 Share Posted October 26, 2022 Can someone please clear something up for me. I am thinking about buying shares in this stock but when I called the RCL rep and asked for clarification on what I can use the OBC for, I was told it cannot be used to purchase drinks, or shore excursions while on board the ship. That just didn't make sense to me and was told I could use it to buy things in the stores. Does this seem right? If this just gets posted as OBC, seems to me you could use it for anything on board. Thanks for any help understanding this benefit. Chuck

You can use the OBC pre-cruise, purchasing items from the Cruise Planner, and purchase almost anything on board, including spa treatments.

There appears to be no distinction between OBC by TA, Celebrity or RCL shareholder. On Board Credit is OBC. You want to use your shareholder OBC in the casino? Go for it! You want to use it to pay for an excursion? Go for it! You want to buy an extra bottle of vino with your shareholder OBC? Go for it! (We certainly used our shareholder OBC for whatever we desired!!) There is one major difference in the TA OBC and the ones you get directly from the cruise line or shareholder. We’ve gotten OBC from the TA on every cruise we’ve taken and every time it was refundable. Whatever was left, in most cases all of it, was refunded to our credit card a day or two after we got home.
