Having read your pre-cruise thread and have the same itinerary at end of November, enjoying your thoughts.   Great tip on Terminal parking.  We may do an offsite parking but even at $130 it's cheaper than Miami.

How was Big Chick for Breakfast?

So nummy. I was all, big whoop, we have fried chicken at home. Wrong, Kmom. Yes it’s just fried chicken but really perfect.

Big Chicken What's good etc? If its free for lunch do drinks other than coffee/tea/lemonade free too?

Really so far any of the chicken sandwiches are outstanding. Bread and biscuits are so fresh and tasty. Fries and the chicken pieces the same. Potato salad too. Nom nom nom and more nom!! Just the normal free drinks you mentioned like all other walk ups. This is akin to Guys Burger and Blue Iguana, same exact model.

is guy's smokehouse still complimentary for lunch /dinner?  we are in a spa interior. would love to see the interior room.

It’s always free for lunch. I think dinner is still free this week but will confirm. Lunch and dinner are slightly different menus as with other pay/free venues.

Great pictures! Trying to figure out if I should book the steakhouse too! I have Rudy’s for Saturday, Teppanyaki for Monday and Thursday Chefs table!

I would do it again so overall I can recommend it but I wouldn’t get the spice rubbed ribeye again. The free red house wine was quite tasty imho but I ain’t a fancy gal.

I’m not planning on any of those you mentioned but might cave on Rudi’s.

Thanks that helps we have the drink package as do my adult kids. We don’t like wine. Love frozen drinks !
Trying to decide if we want to eat at the other 2 for dinner. Looking forward to your opinion.

There are little pedicabs running peeps back and forth, for a fee I assume but I’ll check when we venture out. But first, trivia!!

The pedicabs work for tips. I usually give them $5 for 2 people.

If you do steakhouse it seems both the filet and the surf and turf are perfect choices. Don’t get me wrong, my ribeye was good. But it wasn’t elevated like, at all. The seasoning was very good, the cook was right, the steak was a bit tough which I have rarely if ever encountered with ribeye. Rich people problems for sure and I happily ate it anyway (still a bit left in my fridge in stacked ice cream cups since the takeout box is your plate with a room service cover on it which will never fit). It was a big steak and I’d have rather had a smaller, sublime steak. I got greedy.

Idk if you looked at the big chicken menu but for lunch looks like a big chicken sandwich with your choice of sauces. Like guys burgers it's a limited menu lol. But I'd like a big  chicken sandwich.

I saw 3 items labelled  breakfast but read served all day ... the chicken and biscuits she mentioned above are a breakfast item. Sounds good.

I'm going for the filet next time. My surf and turf the lobster was cooked to mush. Seems not the best place for lobster either.

The better place would be Rudi's Seagrill.  Saw a video by Paradeejay and Jay had the crab imperial stuffed lobster tail as well as the lobster mac n cheese for his appetizer and he raved about it.

At 12:38, there is a three minute review.

Is there transportation from the ship  to  terminal in Cozumel?.  It could be a difficult walk for some and it looks like MG is  dicked at far end

We walked to the Dufry shop but the pedicab will take you that far. It is tips only. We took it back to the ship. There are 3 of us and we took 2 pedicabs and we gave each driver $5 per the prior suggestion.

Big chicken is very good. Any of the fried chicken sandwiches for breakfast or lunch are good and the fries are flat cut and fresh fried, very well seasoned (salt +mild spices). Best fries I’ve had in years. Chicken pieces are just delicious, Shaq sauce is nom nom nom.

Does the sauce come on the sandwich or is it on the side and you put it on yourself? I think I would have to try the sauce first to see if I liked it or not before I would want it on my chicken.  LOL

There are 4 diiferent sandwiches to choose from with various toppings.  But, you do have your choice of white meat, dark meat or grilled, so it basically expands it to 12 choices.  The 3 breakfast items, which are two sandwiches and an omelette are available till 300 pm.

Some of the sandwiches state that they come with the sauce, but they will honestly make it however you want. It’s basically like Subway, they are right there talking to you while they assemble it. The is a sauce / condiment bar where you can choose to sample and sauce it yourself. That’s where the slaw, pickles and potato salad are as well.

Did they give you the extra $100 OBC?  They were giving those who kept the July sailings $100, not sure if it apply to those sailing in August too.

We did not get any OBC, likely because we didn’t have any cruises canceled. We might be the only people on board who both 1. Didn’t have a casino rate and 2. Never had any cruises canceled due to Covid. This is the only one we have booked in the past 2 years and Carnival knows who Kmom is in real life, so they got the Mardi Gras sailing just for us. You’re welcome, cruising public.

Hello,

How they are handling seating in the MDR? Are they still seating 6-8 people at one table?

Do you still sit at the same table each night? I read on another post they are not social distancing in the MDR just cramming everyone in.
