Do you think a vision class would come back to Benjo land or is it a place holder for something else.

I don't think anybody really knows what ship will be where or when in the next couple of years and what they may plan today could change tomorrow. Can’t you just tell us something we want to hear Graham? Something like it’s a place holder for Wonder of the seas. Actually Wonder moves from the shipyard to a dock tonight and sea trials next week. OK…its a placeholder for the Wonder of the Seas……..(official lie) Interestingly though, when Celebrity Edge was launched, someone ( who “could” know) told me that the Edge would come to Australia. Personally, I would be happy to see any “of the Seas” ships down here.

Some of the Chinese features have been charged for a more multi use. Venues such as Johnny Rocket,Chops steak house,Giovanni’s ,Sorento pizza have replaced the noodle house,Shanghai dumplings and the Japanese restaurants. The only Asian feature is a international Pharmaceutical shop in the promenade and Asian section in windjammer. Also I believe the gaming tables in the casino are green not red. So with that evidence I think we may see it in Australia in the future.

Noodles, dumplings and Japanese food would go down well with many Australians if they were good quality.
Ondine Posted August 15, 2021 #34 Share Posted August 15, 2021 Golden Princess is now in the Adriatic Sea bound for Trieste. Story is she will have her makeover there and emerge as the Pacific Adventure. About time. Pacific Encounter, Diamond Princess and Sapphire Princes are enjoying floating around off Limassol. There is a large section of the buffet that’s a noodle and soup bar and yes it would go down well in Singapore and Australia . Ovation was built for Asia and had red gaming tables which didn’t go well with the Americans and Europeans and had to be changed to green as they refused to gamble.Trivial but true. Ovation had a restaurant called Kung fu panda which was a disaster with the ANZ ,Americans and Europeans. As for Americanised, I think westernised is more appropriate it covers more of the clientele. Europe,ANZ,Africa. And we used to get a lot of Russians and Indians also.

Westernised might cover the clientele but the food styles are very American, not just on Royal Caribbean but on most of the other cruise lines as well. But I guess a high proportion of passengers overall would be from the US, plus the menus are probably created in the US. I was quite impressed with some of the food on the Carnival cruise we did. It wasn't quite as Americanised as I expected. One evening we ended up chatting to the F&B manager who told us they use different menus while operating in Australia. You don’t realise just how different Aust food is to American food until you cruise on an American ship. Aussies cruised on first Rhapsody of the Seas charter from Honolulu to Sydney. From memory grits plus lots of sweet stuff for breakfast. Lots of flavoured hot sweet tea (had to buy real tea en route) iced tea etc. Certainly not American home cooking! I was told they buy all food in US and supplement it en route if necessary. I enjoyed food on Hurtigruten (Norwegian) and Noble Caledonian (British). They put the luggage on board in a big net. This was the first indication of the uniqueness of this cruise, which was to be my last one prior to the pandemic.
Rare OzKiwiJJ Posted August 23, 2021 #49 Share Posted August 23, 2021 We were very thankful that we had finally reached Elite on Princess for our last cruise in December 2019. That allowed us to get onboard really quickly. The air was thick with smoke from the bushfires that day. Later in the afternoon we went up to Skywalkers. The smoke was so thick by then we couldn't see Kirribilli. We stayed up there until sailaway as there was no way we were going out on deck that day. It was a relief when we got far enough away from Australia to be free of the smoke for a few days.

One benefit of needing a wheelchair is you often board ahead of any class it varies by line, but sometimes first group on, or straight after full suites. But I’d gladly swap back to last on to not need the thing.
