NHCRUISIN Posted September 26, 2021 #1 Share Posted September 26, 2021 Currently have a Sunset Veranda on Edge, for about $600 we can upgrade to a sky suite….is it worth it ? Also do Sky Suite balconies have the ability to connect since we are traveling with another couple ?

If it’s a total of $600 (or $42 pp/day) for a very nice cabin plus you get to eat in Luminae, I would say yes. IMHO not so much if it’s per person. As far as the balcony goes, there is a door between most balconies that can be opened. Edited September 26, 2021 by Ken the cruiser

We were on a B3B back in August in a S2 sky suite and really enjoyed our cabin as well as eating in the Luminae! If you have never been in an Edge sky suite yet, IMHO it’s definitely worth the experience for an additional $300 per person. 😎 Edited September 26, 2021 by Ken the cruiser 1

How are you able to get such a cheap upgrade? Is that the minimum bid for Move Up? Normal pricing would be several times that amount !!! If Move Up beware that suites are VERY popular on Edge and certainly would go for more than the minimum.

Remember, you don’t get the additional $300 pp in OBC, streaming Wi-Fi or premium beverage package that usually comes with the suite AI package when you take the upgrade. miched Posted September 26, 2021 #7 Share Posted September 26, 2021 I would do it for the amenities, dining in Luminae and anything else that you may get with it. To me it is very a cheap up grade and a no brainer Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
NHCRUISIN Posted September 26, 2021 Author #8 Share Posted September 26, 2021 This would not be an offered upgrade, we are before final payment and prices have dropped on this cruise.

NCHPcruiser Posted September 26, 2021 #10 Share Posted September 26, 2021 (edited) We would take this upgrade in a heartbeat! I do not believe the Sky Suite balcony dividers can be opened to an adjacent balcony like they can on some S-class ships. Rare molemaui Posted September 26, 2021 #12 Share Posted September 26, 2021 In addition to Luminea which is outstanding on it's own, the Retreat pool deck is fantastic and nothing like the big pool area which resembles college spring break with the crowds and noise. The Retreat is a wonderful enclave away from the crowds. Want a show or to go to the martini bar? Get on an elevator. Otherwise probably 70-80% of our time is spent within the Retreat. SO-in answer to your question-GO FOR IT!
Oville Posted September 27, 2021 #13 Share Posted September 27, 2021 OP, in a heartbeat. The suite experience on Edge is well worth the $600.

So, is it $600 more than what you originally paid? Or is it $600 more than what your current cabin fare was reduced to? If the latter, then it's a clear no-brainer. If the prior, there's more math involved and we don't have all the data--you can upgrade to SS for $600 OR save $XXX and reprice your current cabin. We don't know what $XXX is and that should be a factor in your decision.
lizinindy Posted September 27, 2021 #15 Share Posted September 27, 2021 Yes--you can open the door between balconies. We did it in pre-covid 2020. The retreat indoor area and outdoor areas are fabulous. You won't ever have to leave. If you can for that price, grab a suite where the bed faces the ocean. spammie Posted September 27, 2021 #16 Share Posted September 27, 2021 I have cruised on the Edge in a Sky Suite and Aqua Class. The Retreat area on Edge is amazing! I would switch to the Suite in a heartbeat for that price!
