As I mentioned above, I pre-register on day 1, phone up P&O on the day the cruises go on official sale and tell them what cabin I want and I`ve always got it - The key is to phone first thing and when you get through tell them what you want ..... Works for me everytime Last time I was in a travel agents - the blue company with the red smile........ I was directed to the internet anyways so that trip to the agents was a waste of time... You dont want a high street TA, you need a specialist cruise TA who always give better phone service than P&O, and will resolve any problems that pop up with one quick phone call.

The very nice young lady also fixed our peninsula club points. Might I ask is this the usual onboard future cruise booking discount, or was it a special offer or a consequence of your peninsular club points. It seems a very good incentive. Since I am looking to book another cruise in January 2023 and will be cruising on Ventura next month a 15 % discount would be a good incentive to book this January cruise onboard Ventura. Also extra OBC plus £50 deposit on future cruise, which in covid times is a good incentive. Sometimes they have managers specials which may be a bit more discount, albeit on cruises that are not selling well but could suit someones needs. I usually plan 18 months ahead and assemble a short list of favourite cruises. So this seems like a really good idea for me, I can precheck with my dogminder before I go on a cruise, see what fits, and hopefully get a discount. Whenever we have booked onboard P&O have automatically transferred the booking to the TA for that particular cruise.
Son of Anarchy Posted October 24, 2021 #63 Share Posted October 24, 2021 Can you request that a booking made on board, is NOT transferred to a TA? Our next cruise was booked via a TA, who we would rather not use again, and we may be making a booking when on that cruise. TIA

That is how we used to do our holidays, but in the current environment of sudden rule changes, quarantine restrictions etc, I would actually now use a good TA, for the additional assistance you would receive if things go pear shaped. Its all done online on my ancient laptop by myself I was not advocating that TAs are always the best way of booking a holiday, but with a cruise holiday you only have one point of contact whether you book with the cruise line or use a specialist cruise TA. My experience with P&O is that it is far easier to amend things with my TA than the pathetic customer service they offer.
