They seem to have also shown their priority by taking Platinum and Diamond for granted when ignoring them when offerring the great specials this summer on Cheers and casino deals.

please don't tip over the "casino offers" cart 😁 🏴‍☠️

Some ships, like Valor, simply hand you $25 cash (which is just as good as money!) in lieu of machine credits.

On Horizon, they put it on our room card. ($25 free play). Ended up cashing out $115 between my husband & I. Not bad spending 5 minutes on slot machines with free play 🙂

We got the 10-10:30 Check in time and the boarding pass also says Boarding Zone A05. FWIW.

Gotta look up those strawberries before Naxer and Hurricane order them all 😁 Already cashed in a bunch of Fun Points for OBC.  So lng as we can still drop off luggage to room and get room key, don't mind schlepping all over to round up water, luggage tags and a mate to the no ship name pin I already have.

I had A01 the first boarding zone after suites. I did drop off my suitcase but couldnt get my room key.  Dont assume your cabin will be cleaned and the key in the slot. Be happy and put your suitcase outmof their way in the closet and go eat. 3 times and only on the b2b did I get the room key at changeover.

I never tried to get the strawberries. Cant help you there.

I've gone back as late as 1:15 pm and my cabin wasnt ready or the room key there to pick up. On vista and breeze they seem to clean the cabins in order not early because you are priority. Be patient. Depends on how far down the line your cabin is.

I had 10:30 and A01 and my key card was in the mailbox waiting for me on the Freedom. Interesting how it's different on other ships.

So did you ignore the paper on your desk when you arrived in your room that had a QR code to scan that was titled "VIFP Benefits"?

On the Elation right now, and that QR code isn’t working correctly. You scan it and end up on the “landing page” that describes what the various benefit levels are. There is no info about when/where to pick up your items.

Had I not stumbled upon this thread before sailing, I wouldn’t have known about the water pick up, gift pick up, casino cash, and strawberry delivery.

Just received an email from Carnival today, code P8V, offering the following:

"Premier boarding and luggage handling
A complimentary gift in your cabin
Treats delivered to your room during your cruise"

I thought they stopped offering premier boarding to anyone other then suites?

I think that's what it does.

If I had not read about back in June/July time frame, my reaction would be to ask my steward and guest services

Cruised on several cruiselines...platinum on Carnival. Just got off the Horizon, seems every cruise you get just a little less of something. It's the death by a thousand cuts....the Platinum label gets a tiny , tiny perk, I remember getting a nice pair of headphones as a Platinum guest...now, You may get a wooden tooth pick holder. We've got some fabulous Platinum gifts over the  years, travel bags, notebooks, headphones.  The system seems to award Platinum rather quickly, then  stretches you way, way out before Diamond.

We didn’t have priority boarding on Mardi Gras but because we checked in a couple of days early we had an early boarding.  With the early boarding time we had one of the smoothest boarding ever on Carnival On our Mardi Gras cruise, even easier than platinum pre-covid when they had priority boarding.

Our last Pre-Covid Cruise......They called Diamond, then Platinum and as soon as the announcement of Platinum immediately went to the Zone loading.....I swear it was like that Running of the Bulls in Spain.

Totally agree.  When there are that many DIA/plat on board it is crazy.

Once upon a time, there were few Platinum cruisers and even fewer Diamond cruisers and the budget went a lot further. Now there are a zillion, but the marketing program still has budget limitations. Grateful or not, you get what you get. Carnival owes you nothing. You have earned nothing.

Loyalty programs are marketing programs, as are CDs.

From the T&C for the program, one example:

Accumulated VIFP Points are not Member’s property and may be revoked, cancelled, limited or modified at any time.

The whole program or any part can be modified, eliminated, at any time for any reason. Etc.
