What about their non USA guests?
In England All young people aged 12 to 17 years will be offered a first dose of vaccine. The timing of a second dose for these 12 to 17 year olds will be confirmed later.

 

Not even thinking of jabbing the under 12s yet here.

I'm sure it's just my anal-retentive tendencies, but why use the word ask rather than require.  Saying, "we are asking" seems like they are opening themselves up to someone brining a non-vaxxed 5 year old onboard and claiming that they didn't think it was truly a requirement...just a recommendation.

All guests abide by the same rules, so sadly, you won't be sailing and yt if the US until the 13 and overs are fully vaccinated

I really don’t think that RCI are going to alienate all their family customers in Europe and beyond…. Where are most of their ships in the summer ?

 

Caveat: we do not have children and I would love ships with 100% vaccinated guests on board only.

Despite being the same company, Royal and X have always had different Covid rules. The fact that X does something doesn’t mean Royal will. 
 

That said, my guess is that Royal eventually requires 5+ to be vaccinated.

They can and do have difference requirements for different departure ports.  I believe they will require in the US and have other rules for Europe

So, what about a cruise that departs 1/30/22? And “asking vs. mandating. There’s always a way around it to get your children on the ship.

There are currently no requirements for vaccine for those under 11, the rules are clear for those 12 and over. It's hard to imagine those will change in less than 2 months. And if it's required, there's really no way around it.

Don’t get caught up in the verbiage, this is a mandate. 
 

We have all learned the last months that there really isn’t a way around these mandates.

My sept balcony on liberty was over $1100. Black friday was over $2200, and cyber monday dropped to 2100, plus taxes. I checked for 2 people and a gty is just under 2k before taxes. To picked a 2D came up with very limited choices. Seems it's the cheapest last I looked, I think I just got a 4D but I'm not sure, my ta picked it. 

 

If this is how they go out of business yikes. I'd love a $25 or even $100 balcony. Allure is even cheaper to book right now than my sept liberty. What am I missing?

Don't we all know that wording from Royal (or celebrity in this case) is usually confusing at best....lol

 

Here is the word MUST being used:

 

Vaccines

All sailings departing the U.S. are subject to guidance from the CDC. As such, Celebrity Cruises will require vaccine eligible guests to be fully vaccinated with all initial doses administered at least 14 days prior to sailing. Only vaccines that are fully approved or authorized for emergency use by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or the World Health Organization (WHO) will be accepted. As of February 1, 2022, all guests 5 years of age and older must be fully vaccinated.

Guests with a mixed series of any two of the following vaccines taken within a minimum of 28 days between doses, will also be considered fully vaccinated: Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca, Sinovac, Sinopharm, or Covaxin. Youths who have received one dose of a vaccine (other than Johnson & Johnson) will not be considered fully vaccinated..

To comply with this requirement, documentation of full vaccination must be provided at the terminal as a condition for boarding. Celebrity Cruise will not accept any form of Certificate of Recovery.

COVID-19 Booster Vaccine shots are not required to sail on Celebrity Cruises.

My bad....I was thinking I was posting on another cruise lines thread at the time (hint: one you and I both read frequently).

 

For Royal, I expect endless casino offers (I've gotten them, and the only 'heavy gambler' in me is the fact that I'm overweight).

I've only heard of two adults getting medical exemptions here on CC, I would expect it would be as difficult to get for children.

Glad that we have our 7 year old grandson vaccinated, he sailed with us on August prior to the shots being offered and it was a challenge. This will make the trip so much easier.

I agree. It’s a long way off in epidemiological terms but if RC get to have a Summer season in Europe next year, I would expect different rules based on local guidelines.
