Does anyone really believe that statement? Not possible.

Of course it's possible. If a large percentage of this  group of partying fellows have already had Omicron they aren't catching it again ; 80% of our positive patients have no to mild symptoms and only find out that they have it when they get swabbed on admission to hospital or to the ER.

It's  also possible that only 4 patients reported to the clinic to be tested.

We will never know . And if it IS only 4 actual cases, CC has already made up

it's mind to not believe it .

The numbers and alleged numbers and percentages mean little to me at this point. But they are a great way to bash Royal, the LGBT community, and the  soon-to-be cruising members of this forum all at once!!

eeek!  Thanks for adding the cruise link that shows the charters.  I wouldn't want to be on ANY charter cruise just because it would definitely change the cruise experience.  This or the swingers cruise would send me overboard. I mean, it is to each his own, and I don't hold judgement on anyone, but I would hate to accidently book one of these cruises. Can anyone book these cruises, by accident?  Or, if you try to book the cruise does it say it is a charter........I hope so.

You cannot accidentally book a full ship charter; only the charter company sells it. OK, maybe a bad travel agent might book you on it.. or was that a movie I saw? 😄

Phewwwwwwwwwwwwww.  Thanks.  I am a bargain hunter and book cruises last minute, so I am happy to see that I can't accidently book a charter cruise.  Oh wait, just on RC, or other cruise lines?  I hope it is the same.

Charter cruises are seldom bargains!

Why don't they just put out a statement and say well we tested 4 passengers and all 4 were positive and no other passengers at this time were tested and leave it at that?

Of course not.  These folks paid 3-4

times the normal rates to go.  They aren’t going to self report and end up in quarantine with no credit back like normal.  No way.  Even if they just decided to self quarantine, they aren’t going to report based on the disincentives to do so.  So the official numbers will never be near a typical cruise.  Also, given the heavy drug use aboard, how many onboard would even know they are sick when they are up for 48 hours straight on a coke bender?   I’m sure half of them are sniffling constantly.

So now the conspiracy theory is that they're intentionally not testing and hiding those that may be noticed as needing testing.

The only people ever tested on Royal Caribbean ships since the Nassau departures on Adventure of the Seas are those people asking to be tested, such as those needing a test for entry into their home country (i.e., Canada, UK, et. al). And those identified onboard when someone is discovered to be positive and contact tracing leads to others being tested.

Finally, the crew is tested regularly, at least weekly. Every single one of them. And contact tracing takes place with them as well.

If you're not symptomatic, and you're not identified through contact tracing with someone who tested positive, you're not going to get tested onboard, charter or not. And believe it or not, most people who aren't symptomatic don't go getting tested anywhere, whether they were on a cruise, traveled by air, were at a restaurant, or in a crowd at a stadium.

You are correct.  All recent cruises are surely officially undercounted as far as positive cases.  But due to significant disincentives to self this trip likely has a much higher multiple of under reported cases.  Wouldn’t matter if they were all monks from a monastery. Put in a significant disincentives to report cases and no one will.  At least in regular cruises right know you get prorated future credit as opposed to being out a cruise fare 5 times the normal rate.

I wish I could find that picture and take a screenshot or if someone out there that is a better sleuth that can find it.  It actually is a bed with a night stand and someone was under a blanket sleeping.  I thought that was wild… well wild in the sense that someone was sleeping in the promenade.

Maybe he had an argument with his partner. 🤣

I saw a picture on social media that showed someone sleeping in a real bed that’s roped off in the promenade area ( by the black car / casino royale sign). Have you seen that?  I am just curious if that’s a publicity stunt or someone is actually sleeping in that area?

I saw it as well. They said it was for Malcolm, Atlantis cruise director.

Why is this person sleeping in the promenade.  I can honestly say that I don’t think I have ever come across a cruise where someone’s bed is in the middle of a public space.  Unless he is sleeping with a mask on isn’t that a direct violation of the protocol / mandate that Royal has been telling everyone to follow and how deeply they care about our safety?

I don’t know… it’s very strange and must have been arranged by Royal since it’s their night stand and bedding.  Not sure that’s following the safety protocols lol.

I'm pretty sure it was a joke.

Wow, it amazes me how things spin out of control on here.  The bed is set up for Malcolm, the Atlantis cruise director, as a joke.  Malcolm ACTUALLY DOES SLEEP in the bed because he is exhausted from being cruise director for a week.  They have been doing this EXACT SAME THING on every cruise for more than 20 years.  it is roped off to keep distance.  Anyone walking through *should* be in a mask, but I think that horse has been beaten to death.

Photo quoted for effect…

I could only see one person with their mask down, and his drink was literally by his face. I wonder if they would be worn this much during a normal sailing, or would many be “actively” drinking. 🤷‍♂️

If this cruise is on full blast, also needed to be put on blast are every music artist that is doing arena tours, every single kids sporting event I've seen friends post the past few weeks, hockey games, the entire entertainment districts in Nashville and New Orleans, many trade shows and conferences, the list goes on and on and on. It's funny how cruises are 'safer than the grocery store' until they aren't 🤨

Thge below is from the Atlantis Guide.  The cruise was to follow all RC Covid Procedures.  Pictures prove it did not.

I want to know how they are suppose to deep clean the entire ship up to Covid protocal standards between the hours of 7:00cam when it docked and 5:00 pm when it takes off with new passengers.  E

I would wager that nobody on cc is able to answer your question correctly.

You are missing the entire premise of this thread. It’s about the juxtaposition between a charter cruise on RC and a regular RC cruise with regards to “safety” protocols. The examples you state are irrelevant because the particular arena’s, sporting stadiums and even downtown Nashville don’t have “safety” protocols for one week of events and then have a free for all the next week. That is what RC was doing with this charter except the last picture of the theater was more in line with what the rest of us have had to deal with to cruise.

There is no such thing as a Deep Cleaning in between  sailing, Can't be done, that's all just eye wash for whoever is listening to make them feel safer. It's a joke.
