D & S Posted March 5, 2022 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2022 Airline changed out flight leaving Seattle for a June cruise. Now put us on a 12:30 pm flight. Don't know if it will allow us enough time to get from the ship to the airport. Any advice. Thank you
neverbeenhere Posted March 5, 2022 #2 Share Posted March 5, 2022 (edited) If you are worried about making it...Get you hinny off the ship as early as possible. (Self carry) Skip waiting for UBER, get the first Cab possible. No worries. BTW: I'll be making the AMTRAK "flight" at 9:50 am. cruising twosome Posted March 5, 2022 #3 Share Posted March 5, 2022 (edited) SWA moved ours up to noon, but think we’ll be fine and TA agrees, doing transfer with RCCL Edited March 5, 2022 by cruising twosome
smplybcause Posted March 5, 2022 #4 Share Posted March 5, 2022 You should be fine but probably want to get off asap. The royal pier isn't close to the train so you're reliant on traffic. If the ship is coming back on a weekday you might run into a bit of it. Security at SeaTac can take a while if you don't have precheck.

SbbquilterUT Posted March 5, 2022 #6 Share Posted March 5, 2022 We have always made the airport within 45 minutes of departing the ship - generally our flight is around 11am and it has not been a problem. Last September we walked off at 7:30, Uber meets you about a block from the terminal front door (turn right when you exit the building).
Baowen Posted March 5, 2022 #7 Share Posted March 5, 2022 You should be fine but doing self assist might be the key to getting off on time.
deliver42 Posted March 6, 2022 #8 Share Posted March 6, 2022 You'll be fine at 12:30. I've never had a problem with any flight after 11:30 A.M.
Jasukkie Posted March 6, 2022 #9 Share Posted March 6, 2022 Seattle is easy peasy. You can check your luggage through to the airport from the ship. Just walk off with a day bag and get in a cab and go.
LeeW Posted March 9, 2022 #10 Share Posted March 9, 2022 The free Seattle baggage check run by the city might have flight time limits associated with it. But if the ship transfers can get passengers to the airport for 12:30 flights the baggage service can also do it. At some point in the cruise you will be asked for your departure information and they will give you the appropriate baggage tags. Doubt you need to walk your bags off early. Cousin Eddie Posted March 14, 2022 #11 Share Posted March 14, 2022 Looks like anything after 11:00 am should be good for the baggage service: https://maketraveleasier.com/PortValet

You can even let the ship take your bags off to either the baggage hall or directly to your airlines.
D & S Posted March 15, 2022 Author #13 Share Posted March 15, 2022 Thank you for your help, Will send bags directly to airline like you suggested. Glad to know we will have plenty of time. But will still get off early due to any traffic delays.

tmoore4075 Posted March 15, 2022 #15 Share Posted March 15, 2022 So a 12pm flight on a Monday be ok for departure? My 2pm got pushed back to 3pm and with the time difference back to the East, that's arriving back in Detroit at 10pm, which I'd rather not do. So looking at changing my return flight to the 12pm departure.
