On a Trans Atlantic we had a lecturer that did a better explanation of how the markers evolved and related the improvements to known cases. Both were excellent. I learned there is a lot to learn! It was fun though. Berkeley High School had a biology course that introduced DNA/RNA as part of the class, I wish there had been more to that info. i have seen several shows that cover using ancestry and 23andMe data to solve different things. Thanks. both are good. 23 and me better on determine material Side vs paternal, but many users either have no tree or are private. Ancestry due to their huge Data base of genealogies. For more advance Family Tree DNA has some very detailed tests that can cost 100- 900 per test. Rare Jim_Iain Posted April 25, 2022 Author #1506 Share Posted April 25, 2022 Having no plan, we found it a real walkable sleepy little town with many taverns, cafe’s and markets. I initially set up Google maps to Mercado de Santo Augustine in Old Town. The route took us along the sea front promenade. We came upon Praza de Maria Piets, a grand plaza surrounding a historic building with a monument of its historic heroine. Then off along old streets with lots of street art. 15

Are they substituting Equinox for the Millennium Sailings? Was curious where Millennium was going? I've read of a number of people on Solstice Cancelled Asian Cruises for 2022 and lifted and shifted to 2023. What a mess. The Solstice was cancelled for the TP Sept 16, that makes 3 times in a row my TP was cancelled. They wanted to move us to the Millie for the 2023 TP, we finally gave up and just cancelled. Granted they only had our deposit money, but thats been tied up since 2019. UGH Currently no reservations on Celebrity, it's a crying shame. bama4cruisin Posted April 25, 2022 #1514 Share Posted April 25, 2022 Love the photos of La Coruna . . . We enjoy strolling through neighborhoods, appreciating the architecture and history of the town, watching people in their everyday lives and finding local markets. Rare Jim_Iain Posted April 25, 2022 Author #1515 Share Posted April 25, 2022 Blog - I'm terrible at blogging and still learning. I created this blog to capture our travel moments then I got bored of it only to bring it back mostly unpublished for my personal reference. While sipping coffee this afternoon while Iain naps I started doing some uploads of our travels. Just finished the Pictures of Cies Island in Galician Atlantic Islands National Park I also posted dinner pictures of Luminae. Beware it is a work in Progress https://cruzinjim.blogspot.com/ 9

They do have a large data base but unfortunately most of their trees are user created and are not verified for accuracy. I find so much inaccuracies I only use it for references. I guess I learned while joining Son of American Revolution that the tree is only accurate if you can prove each ancestor with documentation. On many of my lines I have proven that the LDS tree is inaccurate with documentation and it remains live. I've not heard of Ancestry responding to police. The DNA tests are totally private unless you choose to share. The police mostly use GED Match as those that are published without restriction they can download the DNA details while on ancestry you can only see who you match with and not the DNA itself. Of course may trees on Ancestry are what I would call Vanity Trees that people just grab and add to their tree with no verification.

La Coruna is such a good walk able town. I joked with Iain as to why someone would pay $79 per person to take a walking tour. I guess many are not as comfortable touring on their own.

We chatted for a long time with Laurance last night and she said the MDR is absolutely packed. Back to pre-Covid guest counts. We don't go to bars, even when no risk from Covid. Iain may fix a drink in the room as we have a full bar setup in our room then go down to Retreat and sit at the bar and talk with bartender. Reflection has the best Bar in the fleet it's a large U Shaped bar that I'm guessing could sit 14 but usually no more than 6 at the bar. We sit on the back side at the last 2 seats and often there is quite a bit of chatter from fellow passengers sitting at the bar. Often someone will say .... are you Jim and Iain which of course is a good ice breaker. If I ever see the Martini Bar with plenty of empty seats I will pounce. Can always run away clutching my Raspberry Lemonade. 🍸

Regrettably her having to use a 4 wheel walker makes it a little more difficult these days just to leave the ship and walk (cobbles are a disaster) which is why we use ToursbyLocals. Rare Jim_Iain Posted April 25, 2022 Author #1525 Share Posted April 25, 2022 I forgot to answer a couple questions. Theater Shows There are 2 each evening at 7 at 9. The current passengers are really into them and packing theater nightly. Casino open nightly 20 minutes out of port and remain open late.
