I wondering if different protocols on different shifts.   There has been a large outbreak on the ship and On the TA the casino was only open in the evenings even when at sea.   They didn't have enough staff to man the cashier cage.

I would believe that with the cases on board that aren't being talked about they are keeping staff away from each other.   In the past week we have lost or Stateroom Attendant, Our Butler and the Sommelier.

Norma -  so sorry to hear your TP has been cruise.   That was one of our favorite cruises.   Are you going to try for a 4th . . .    I thought third time was the charm.

I have done 2 TP's on the Millie so didn't want to do a 3rd on the  Millie. My family and I just got back from a spring break cruise on the Koningsdam, San Diego to Vancouver BC with a 12 and 16 yo.

Also did the Equinox back in Oct 2021. Looking now at Alaska, if I go will have to do a BKB since 7 days is way to short. Will certainly fina aTA for the fall. Enjoying your pictures and review tremendously.

I was just reading on our FB - Celebrity silhouette Transatlantic - 8 April 2022

Someone asked if anyone had also tested positive (asymptomatic) on disembarkation or when getting home.   About a dozen reported they had tested positive.

Stay safe.

Interesting that so many crew are getting it. Is it because they are not masked among themselves?

Laura

Or, maybe they are now sharing cabins.

I believe Deck 6 is now for passengers.

It was a terrible time.   Initially there was no known treatments and those that were infected were given a death sentence of less than a year.    The main tabloid of the Gay Community -  The Bay Area reporter usually had 4-5 obituaries a day.      As the epidemic grew the obituary section grew to 20 - 40 pages.   Each week everyone would look to see what friends  had succumbed.

Unfortunately it was called the Gay Disease and straights thought they were immune.   In the 70's age of "free love" many later succumbed by not taking the advise of "Safe Sex".

I was a young med student and resident during those terrible days. The first few weeks and months of Covid were a horrible reminder of the fear and mistrust of those days in the early 80s - I can only imagine what it was like in San Francisco back then. The hemophilia community was also devastated by HIV, many of the victims children. So many children that I think Hemophilia A is less common than it was when I was a resident.

Glad you have happier days with Iain and appreciate your sharing your adventures will all of us - stay well!

Greetings from my private yacht, a/k/a the Celebrity Summit.  325 pax on this Miami-Cape Liberty repo sailing.  Luminae is 100%, rest of the ship is a ghost town.  They're only doing one show at 9:00 p.m.  Went to Bacio this morning to get a cup of coffee--was approached by two waiters wanting to help me.  No waiting at the bar.

I thought I saw Summit on the Port Everglades cam Sunday afternoon. One of the large RCI ships went out ahead of it, the upper decks overflowing with happy passengers waving to shore side. Then Summit followed……I’m not lying, just there or four passengers (or crew) on upper deck. I figured …how sad Summit looked.
if you left from Miami, maybe I have the Celebrity ship name wrong.

We began our day with a light breakfast.   I Think I mentioned that we now have our 3 rd Butler, Dennis.   Really nice man from Nigeria.

We met Emma, our guide via Tours by Locals at the gate.   Would highly recommend her if you need a excellent guide for the day.

First Up was a visit to Castro Utiildades -  A beautiful beach town that Iain last visit when he was 10 y.o.  It truly lived up to his memories.    After touring the town, Emma had our driver take us the the Beach where Iain played as a child and took a walk up to a beautiful park that wasn't there when he last visited.

I forgot to mention that Emma had also arranged for a driver in a very comfortable 8 passenger luxury vehicle.  I will have to apologize that I didn't remember his name.

Sailing May 13. It would be nice if it was that quiet for us but I highly doubt it.

Wow that's terrific for you. Am wondering if many people have canceled due to covid? Please post about your May 4 cruise adventures since we leave on a June Bermuda cruise. Was it possible to get an upgrade on board?

Am definitely jealous.  Do you think they will organize bowling on board?  Lol.

Jim, I read on another thread that someone who tested positive for Covid on Silhouette is quarantined in his original cabin. Can you confirm this? If so, maybe the powers that be read David’s posts and changed the protocol. Thanks!

Well, Happy Cruiser, finally after all of these years you are now in the PS on the revolutionized Summit. I hope that it meets your expectations in spite of all the the ‘Hoppen” design flaws.  As you know, we found it to be wonderful with many great improvements and a few minor misses.  Enjoy every moment of your cruise in that wonderful suite!  The desk in the bedroom serves as a fine substitute for the dressing table and many of the improvements in the suite make up for that loss.  We immensely enjoyed 21 nights in that suite before Covid and counted ourselves very fortunate for every moment that we spent there.  Happy sailing in your “private yacht.”
