I agree!!!

But, it did fit inside the suite case.

Cheers!

🍹

What extra amenities come with the "suite case"?  Is it worth upgrading from a regular "suit case"?

Or should I consider a sunset "suit case"?

There are actually 2-levels of suite (Suit) benefits.  The top suites (suits) - Royal, Penthouse, Villa and Iconic have the following benefits:

* Two bottles of you favorite adult beverage

* Unlimited specialty dining.

* Specialty dining in-suite service.

* Morning coffee served poolside as shown in picture  🙂

* Unlimited Access to Spa

*Premium WiFi? Maybe all suites get premium Wi-fi?

*Escort to room when boarding

*Amazing personalized service.

Some perks all suite class rooms receive.

* Illumine

*Retreat lounge

*Retreat Deck

*Laundry Service

*Amazing personalized service

*Priority Tender Service

*EXTRA SOFT TOWELS FOR THE CHAIR HOGS 😀

*Complimentary Celebrity logo bags for the Chair Hogs to mark their territory 🤣

There are some other threads here that discuss suite perks in detail. My list provided is off the top of my head and may not be everything offered.  I am sure other critics here might join in with their experiences.

CHEERS!

🥂

I never ask to sit at someone’s table and I don’t like it when someone asks to sit at ours.  They always want to make small talk and I just don’t care to get into all that.  As I’m older now, probably if someone asked I would smile and say they were welcome to share the table but please, no small talk.  We don’t go to the buffet at peak times though, so thankfully we rarely have it happen.

With the contact tracing these days, it is a risk to be friendly and offer strangers seats at your table.  This is sad but unfortunately true.  Might end up with you in the COVID brig.

We are usually late to the pool deck so can rarely complain. I was not aware it was a Celebrity issue. I cannot imagine how it would be on Aida or Tui ship though.

What gets me agitated around a pool deck is folk watching videos or listening to music without earphones. Almost got into a fight with a guy when I offered him the use of my earphones.

i was thinking the same thing and some ships are not allowing you to share a table either, at least in the MDR.

Definitely not worth getting into a fight over but I would never put someone else’s earphones in my ears.  That’s disgusting

When staying in a higher suite you can sometimes arrange speciality dining in suite, however, it is not listed as a perk. We have always seen it as something you could request but not something to expect on a daily basis. Also unlimited access to the spa is not usually a perk for higher suite guests.

Also I don’t think all suites have laundry included, I think that is just the upper suites.

I think experiences while ships were at low numbers have added to confusion. I have read reviews where a RS guest was given access to the spa but after many years of cruising this definitely is not usual.

I write not to criticise your list, in your experience that may be what has been offered, however, in our experience the above has been the usual…

Experienced cruiser here (23 sailings) but will be on my first CX sailing in November on Apex and more than familiar with the chair hog. Question... Is renting a cabana on Sea Days a viable alternative to dealing with the infamous monsters? They are available on all Sea Days on my Thanksgiving sailing and they seem quite nice with great amenities (the booze is a bit overkill as we have  premium alcohol packages but bottle service is always nice). Is there some catch I'm missing? Any input by folks that have sailed Apex would be appreciated!

Agree-- However , as I posted ( see # 65 ), that was back in 2019 , and on previous cruises as well.

IMO, back in those days, that was the polite thing to do.

"a risk to be friendly and offer strangers seats at your table"------

Of course---LOL, depending on looks, their age, # of  diamonds on their lanyard , etc ???

The cabanas don’t face the pool - they face the walkway, so the back wall of the cabana is on the pool side.  Sort of a dumb design which makes those cabanas not very desirable.  (Everyone walking past goes by your cabana.). However:  to me it would be worth it because I cannot stand dealing with chair hogs.  Having private allocated space to come/go as you please would be nice.  You’d have to walk to the end of the row to access the pool.

Good plan but it’s expensive.

There is another hog that we encountered on Oceania.  (So it doesn't matter the cost of the cruise -- it's the "people" who cruise).  We were having breakfast on the outdoor cafe when this insufferable person leaves his table to park himself close to ours so he won't disturb his other insufferables while he's on his cell phone.  And why do people who use cell phones think that everyone wants to hear their conversations?

We were younger than we are now, so we kept quiet.  Now, today, this feisty old lady would have said something.

Everything I listed in the higher suites was received on the Edge and the Apex during my last 3-sailings this year.

Regarding the Spa, there was a list the spa desk looked and to confirm access was allowed.

It would be interesting to find out if spa access is now regularly being included before our next cruise on all ships…

You are correct -- Never going to happen--- Too intimidating for Staff, and,  Officers could " care less "as they strut around ( always with their phone to their ear-- so, nobody bothers them to get involved )----

I don't believe for one minute that anyone takes a suite ,or just stays on their balcony because of this " problem ".

We've been on xxx cruises, did see lots of chair hogs, but always were able to find a place to sit.

In fact, on occasion while looking for a seat , we were offered seats when folks were ready to leave.

I don't spend alot of time actually in a pool (germ soup), but I do notice that people are always angling for the chairs around the pool or a row back.  There are plenty of other seats available,  but not always right near the pool.

I never said nothin 'bout no "good ole days ".

I was justifyin that back in them days it was " polite and the proper thing to do '' when I seen someone ( especially if she -- oops, better not go there in case " you know who " is lookin over my shoulder ) is lookin for a place to sit.

Today , I would not invite noone ----- unless, oops, there I go again.

Speaking of books, if it were a title or author that you would want to read, just take it (after 45 minutes of it not being attended) and start reading... and keep it until you finished.

A few days later take it back and leave on a chair with a towel, I Am sure the owner will be mad as heck... LOL

LOL-- Of course I would invite you, anytime.

Remember the " good ole days " when you " guided " me to the Guidelines of CC after I expressed some " thoughts " about  " stuff " that wasn't very well ( ?? ) received ? Luckily, ( for me ) the Moderator removed my post.

LOL-- we are " starting " to think about cruising again but will wait until Celebrity publishes their list of Who's On Board their ships in 2023.

We confirm that we had complimentary access to the thermal suites when we stayed in the Edge Villa.  We just handed the spa check in person our seapass cards and they let us in.  The spa check in counter had two binders, one for Aqua class cabins and a second one for suites.

Our Retreat Host stated that this applies to all the upper suites including the Royal Suite (at least this is true on the Edge series ships).

Not sure if this is true also on the Solstice class ships--we have an upcoming sailing on the Eclipse in the Royal Suite and are interested in finding out if this applies across all classes of Celebrity ships.

Having cruised numerous RS and PH on S and M class the spa has never been included…..Perhaps a new perk on E class only?
