ms Zuiderdam in Juneau April 29, 2022

Our first HAL ship of the Alaska season arrives in Juneau on Friday, 29 April.  Zuiderdam is scheduled to be at the Franklin Street dock from 1 pm to 10 pm (remember this is Alaska Daylight time [UTC - 8]).  For anyone new to our watch party, the ships often show up on the webcams anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes before the scheduled time.

 

Zuiderdam is the only cruise ship in port.

The weather forecast is for clouds in the afternoon and a high of 51F/10C and a low of 39F/4C with a 24% chance of rain.  Sunrise is at 5:08 am and sunset at 8:43 pm.

 

Next up:  Eurodam and Koningsdam on Monday, 2 May.

Beautiful sight, the Zuiderdam can be seen sailing the inside passage, from Vancouver to Alaska.  This is the first cruise ship we have seen here since the end of the 2019 Alaska season.

Thanks for the information.  I'll be watching during the time Zuiderdam is in port.  

 

Maybe I am odd, but, I enjoy watching and hearing the floatplanes taking off and landing that we see on the Juneau web cam.  Missed that during the 2021 cruise season.

FWIW Zuiderdam has been delayed leaving Vancouver and thus will be docking around 3:00 PM but still leaving at 10:00 PM.  All excursions delayed at least two hours.

That reminds me that I need to check the port schedules for my B2B sailings beginning on 6/1.  One of the reasons I picked Zuiderdam was because of the mid-week sailings, hoping to avoid being in port with multiple large ships.

3 1/2 hours away might be just right. I will keep my eye on the map..

Just came into range near the cutoff for Tracy Arm.

Thanks for this information.  I have been watching the web cam for awhile and wondering where Zuiderdam is.  If she docks at 3:00 P. M. Juneau time, that will be 7:00 P. M. EDT.
