Rare h20skibum Posted May 18, 2022 #202 Share Posted May 18, 2022 Busted!! So we are sitting in Windjammer this morning, and a waiter walks up to us and says “I know you”. We hadn’t run into him yet on this cruise, but saw him every day when we were on in March. He says “You are the cookie people”. Evidently that is our nickname, because we each stop and get four cookies each, to keep our cabin stocked. 🤣🤣 Then he remembered our names. It is nice to be remembered, but maybe we should work at something other than cookies to be remembered by. An I think I may have stumbled on why we put on some pounds on these cruises. 🤣🤣 7

By night two the wait staff would greet him with "Double Rum!" when we walked in. LOL
DaniDanielle Posted May 18, 2022 #204 Share Posted May 18, 2022 It is amazing how the crew remember things. A year after one cruise we were back and I was asked if I wanted my cosmo! This was the Anthem Diamond Lounge.

My last cruise some of them called me Mr. Sea Dog because of my tee shirts.

Last November on Harmony the staff only let a limited number of peeps in, even though people didn't actually stay inside to eat. That created a line in front of the doors quite often. There was an attendant at the door to make sure everyone washed their hands. All tables available to eat in as well as a few outside. It was packed and every table used. But turnover was quick. None of table’s blocked off any more. Safe travels Edited May 18, 2022 by Lionesss

Rare Lionesss Posted May 18, 2022 Author #212 Share Posted May 18, 2022 Aruba Awoke at 5:56am to be ready to open door for room service. They were very prompt. Food was still hot and everything we ordered was also there. then got ready to meet for our excursion in the theater. It was very organized. And compliments to all the RCI workers managing hundreds of cruisers. Then as a group we went to our individual lines we did not have to wait under the tent. Off we went You can leave whatever you want on your seat because it was same seating for entire on and offs The tour had a few stops in the caverns, beach the duplicate LOURDS site where the 3 girls saw the blessed mother. So much information. If he made something up I would be gullible to believe him. He was good.
Rare Lionesss Posted May 18, 2022 Author #213 Share Posted May 18, 2022 Continue on Ray our bus driver was very informative. For example did you know that over 36% of Aruba is about four feet below sea level. ( I’ll share a picture of how they determined this. ).But the locals do not worry. Ray told us it rains almost every day for 15 min. And gets sucked up right away. No flooding. We really enjoyed the tour. But I think young busy bodies will get cranky, tired , or just bored. Well done. Stay safe.
Rare Lionesss Posted May 18, 2022 Author #214 Share Posted May 18, 2022 Another interesting fact about Aruba is that the Scientology cruise ship Freewinds makes Aruba it’s home port. For supplies and stuff. Ray also stated that Aruba has an 85% of the population are Catholic. And the later 15% has many other religions represented. saw the ship on the way back to port.
saltycat Posted May 18, 2022 #215 Share Posted May 18, 2022 We are also on this cruise . The Solarium Bistro is open for breakfast . I asked about lunch and they said no. At dinner it becomes Samba Grill.

The bartender from the solarium this past January remembered me when she saw me back aboard in April. Unfortunately, she was working at the bar on the pool deck which is not one of my preferred places to get a drink.

The Bistro was open on boarding day, and we ate there then. Haven’t paid attention at other times. Edited May 18, 2022 by h20skibum
Rare h20skibum Posted May 18, 2022 #218 Share Posted May 18, 2022 We had no plans for the day in Aruba, other than a beach day at Eagle Beach. We got a late start in our walk there. We walked there the last time we were here in October, but today was much more humid. For those who want to walk it, it is 3200 steps from the port to reach Divi Beach, then another 2200 from Divi to Eagle. Overall, about a 50 minute walk. When we got there at 10:30, they rented the last of the $40 umbrella and two loungers to the couple in front of us. So, we went next door, and got the last of the $50 umbrella and two loungers. Yea, for those prices they should include a drink. But the views are amazing, and the water so nice. Found this setup on our walk back to the ship.
Rare h20skibum Posted May 18, 2022 #219 Share Posted May 18, 2022 I also found that someone had my license plate. But after a hot walk back (24,000 steps for the day so far), we stopped at Schooner Bar to have them make us a couple Union Jack Lava Flows. Ohhhh sooo good. I did have to show him the Royal recipe, but he did great. 7

I got fooled by the looks of a drink once - it was pink and creamy, and I thought it was going to be strawberry flavored, but it turned out to be coconut for some odd reason. I don't like that much coconut in my drink, and neither does DH. They were BOGO, and I HAD to drink them because I hate wasting paid for drinks.... 😞 Edited May 18, 2022 by Itchy&Scratchy
Rare Lionesss Posted May 18, 2022 Author #221 Share Posted May 18, 2022 Trying to re-post that is lost in cyber space. The casino has been really generous Over the last 2 days I had won 3 jackpots and was hand paid. $ 3146 $ 2036 $ 2015. Last night when I won the second jackpot it took awhile for them to come over so I played the machine next to it. So I had money in it. So now they come over get my money and tax form. They left. So now I’m playing out the machine and that’s when it hit. Of course I am paying and to get these jackpots I had to put in money. But number crunching I’m approximately 40 % ish ahead, Of to dinner. later
Rare Lionesss Posted May 18, 2022 Author #222 Share Posted May 18, 2022 Oh. Forgot to text Spoke with Junior in concierge lounge. And he did confirm is to be a Genie. But. He is delaying the new appointment. Because he would have to cancel going home to see his family in August. He hopes they honor his delay. And not be forced to give the vacation up. later
Sea Viewer Posted May 18, 2022 #223 Share Posted May 18, 2022 When I was on the Allure earlier this year they ran out of mint for my mojito. As I was walking past the pool bar on embarkation day I heard 'Mary welcome back we have mint this cruise" amazing that they can remember names and drinks 🍷
