Circle Iceland with The Inside Cabin - 24 days on the NIeuw Statendam

Recommended Posts

A group of us did the Blend yesterday at 3PM

Takes about 90 minutes

$47 for one - (Plus 18%) I think it was $59 for a couple

You get one bottle of wine - plus several glasses during the blending process.

Fun with a group

I think Pete hosts all of the Mixology classes and events.  We saw him several time on Koningsdam during our Alaska cruise.  He served us at the Whiskey tasting at 'Notes'.  He's a really engaging guy!

Beautiful Blue skies – nice icebergs lining our approach.

We stop and hover about ½  mile from tender landing – light winds – calm seas

  • They announce open tendering at 9:30 am
  • We head to deck A around 10:45 – massive lines – everyone must have waited till open tendering.   Despite long lines – only a 15 minute wait till we are on tender
  • Short tender ride, we are near pier at 11:17 and wait 20 minutes for pier to clear.
  • Huge line of people waiting to go back to ship – 400 feet

We head off toward Hotel and Bar – opened at noon.   $10 beer – no food

Thanks for so generously sharing your holiday with us. We enjoy reading all your live posts. It always makes us feel that we’re on your cruise.

I enjoy seeing the menus, imagining what I would order. The last “Dressy” gala meal didn’t do it for me, I didn’t see a salmon offering. Will you ask a waiter if there’s an Indian menu? It’s been offered in the past, but I’ve not heard anything about it recently. Thank you.

Do you mean an Indian menu as a daily alternative or only on "dressy nights"

We were surprised to see "fish and chips" on the Dressy Night menu .....sigh

I did get one to sample - it was good - but still....

Nothing wrong with fish and chips on a regular menu.  I don’t think that’s great on dressy night given the price that was charged for this cruise.  I don’t find the menus to be that much different from the usual with a few better choices sprinkled in.  I see still no “free” lobster unless I missed it.  I’m enjoying your thread.

Sorry, yes, I meant every night. There had been a series of 7 nightly menus, posted on the RogerJett site,  but that was before Covid. I read that you need to specifically ask for these menus however.
