Rare Lionesss Posted August 8, 2022 Author #226 Share Posted August 8, 2022 (edited) Slot pull day. These were our guidelines before we sailed. I want to share how they did it. This way when our cruise happens we as a group can vote and finalize plans. I just want to post how they did. Took 1 1/2 hours start to finish. Everything was shared with casino hostess before it started. Before it started there was a limit of 60. But almost everyone showed up and a few more. So 69 participants. The coordinator of the event Shannon asked the group if she can keep her sea pass in for points. Everyone was great full she coordinated. So at 1pm Ocean time we checked in submitted $20 to play Got our beads and a numbered tag where we put our name on. When we closed the registration (1:30pm) Shannon took the money and got $100 bills from cashiers. Our machine. As she was doing this they picked numbers in the order you will play. At the end of play the person who won the highest number got a bag a prizes. When it was done we had a net loss of $200ish dollars. Then the group voted to take the money go to a roulette table. Pick10 numbers and go for it. We lost. We had a very nice group of people. So as our time nears I think as a group we can use this event as a basis for developing ours. Stay safe. Rare Lionesss Posted August 8, 2022 Author #228 Share Posted August 8, 2022 So I ventured down to the promenade to see what all the hype of “sales” were about. One table all around with jewelry Shiny fake pieces. One table with sweater like ware and beach bags So I went over to the “ real” jewelry store. I wanted to see what I could get with my $350 “signature” status. The very nice man who assisted me and was not rushing me out the door said the least expensive price of jewelry starts at $1000. He was nice. In the store was a section of clearance items. Some actually were rather nice. Now once again even with a sale. The prices were out of our budget. I wonder what tomorrows sales will be. later Time to get ready for “formal” night. I will be business casual. Catch you later.

MEET AND MINGLES FOR: German French Spanish Also we may have dodged a happening. Have not seen any quincentaras (sp) on board. Just a few adults in the making out late. You know the ones too old for teen club but not old enough to go to casino or legally drink. That indicates that there is a large contingent of said languages aboard Allure on your sailing, at least large enough to host a specialty language event. Sometimes that may indicate that an affiliated with the ship independent group of said language is aboard with a guide wishing to add some more members to their shore excursions program. I was fortunate enough to find such an event of that sort there on Allure the first time she came here in Europe. A nice Brazilian group was aboard with their tour leader and they accepted me and my parents on their group shore excursions program. My previously purchased shore excursions with the ship were relocated to their already similar ones, I paid the difference when needed and all was fine.

Rare Lionesss Posted August 9, 2022 Author #234 Share Posted August 9, 2022 Good morning from Curaçao. Up at 6am. Last night was a great night for sleeping. A few good sea bumps but did not affect me. Rocked to sleep. We were on balcony and able to hear and see the mooring line shot out to pier. Then the locals tying it on that big support to tether us today. Breakfast was delivered at 6:31. We requested 6:30. Talk about efficiency. Today we swim with the turtles Excited. A little anxious. Rick is taking our underwater camera. That is all for now. Updates to follow.

The sea calls my name Posted August 9, 2022 #240 Share Posted August 9, 2022 We are going there in October on the Allure. It will be our first time to both Aruba and Curacao. What would you say is a "must see" experience? Thanks.

If you invest enough you can get citizenship. We have many reasons why we are considering it but it's something I'd rather discuss with you in private.
Rare Lionesss Posted August 9, 2022 Author #242 Share Posted August 9, 2022 Good afternoon from Allure of the seas. I will answer questions after this post about our day. To begin with the gangway was to open at 8:30 am. We leisurely walked down at 8:35 just to avoid crowds. After our sea pass was scanned we walked to check in and was directed to a line which was maybe 1/5 of a mile from ship. Just moments after we were directed to a bus. The bus was very modern and the air conditioner work very well. I’m guessing there were around 30 on this tour. Once we were on our way a very nice tour guide gave us information about the island. To begin with. Ever since they had issues with Venezuela and broke off all ties they can not travel to the country. They are totally off limits from a country a mere 39 miles away. Also. In they are still recovering from COVID. When it hit many islander’s went home to the Netherlands. And have yet to return. Pre COVID the population was 159,000 Post COVID the population is currently 150,000 As long as you have a pulse you will get a job. Upon arrival we went to the catamaran dive boat. Safety instructions. Rules for the dive. got are fins and masks. I got a life ring and held onto it when I snorkeled. We were directed to the area where the fishermen cleaned their fish However many fishers were in early and cleaned their fish out and threw in the water. Turtles ate early and were sleeping it off on the bottom of the ocean. I may have seen 2 turtles. One for sure. Many were upset because the way it was promoted and it did not live upto it’s expectations. Some Random pictures from the spouse. Something interesting though. Trying to figure out what the turtles favorite CD You can see the erosion on the cliffs from sea water and wind. So now it was time to return to port. The waves were 4-5 feet and the boat really rocked to it. Okay. Now the fun part. While the captain was preparing to go to idle to dock all of a sudden ((((((((BANG, LOUD CRASH)))))) The boat stopped dead in her tracks but as far as we could see we were drifting into those big cliffs. So now they open up the bench to the engine. And in his Dutch accent yelled up. “ ITS BROKE”. As we are drifting closer to the rocks. He does a temporary fix and we idle back to dock. Bud ride back to ship. It was done well Organized Very friendly. I would do again. Ty for following
theump Posted August 9, 2022 #243 Share Posted August 9, 2022 It might have been the Happy Together CD. 🙂 Enjoying your review. My wife and I are on the Allure in December with Firefly. Can not wait. Haven't been on this big of ship and we are looking forward to it. Love the Liberty, Mariner, Freedom so curious to see what all this will be like. I am a planner and will have to plan out shows and excursions more closely this trip. The Ump John

Glad no major problems. I think all those excursions to see sea life have to be met with realistic expectations. It can change on any given day and any given hour.

Rare Lionesss Posted August 9, 2022 Author #246 Share Posted August 9, 2022 Finally. If you are in a suite/pinnacle and want to see a show. And you did not make a reservation. As you get near the gate keeper at the entrance you just walk by with your sea pass let them see the color. They will let you pass. They do not scan. For those not in a suite or a Pinnacle if you showed them the reservation on your Royal app you got in. I do not know how KEY. Players get in. Comedy club entrance strictly enforced. Have to have reservations. If not go in standby line and get in with the no shows. More answers to come. Be safe.

Floridadude Posted August 9, 2022 #250 Share Posted August 9, 2022 I’m excited as I board the Allure this Sunday. Will be my 5th sailing on Allure. Hoping there will be a few less children due to school already started in most states. As of this morning there are still over 110 cabins available online, most OV Balcony. love also if it’s not a full sailing. Cheers!
