Getaway not moving into Port Canaveral

Sorry for the title. I  noticed the Getaway going into port. Now I notice its not moving Just sitting out in the ocean - no movement

It doesn’t have a new cruise out of Port Canaveral till this Saturday, Oct 8th. No need to get here to early. Only about a two day trip.

i live in a condo where I can see the ships going in an out. During covid they sat out there and went in maybe once a week. so maybe you are right. Its just going to sit there till time its next cruise

They don't pay port fees when they're anchored out in open water.

It cost money to dock the ship at the port, dropping anchor in the harbor is free  

 

its like a car. do you prefer paying money to park at a garage or free parking on the street?

According to MarineTraffic site, GA is "parked" at her anchorage just outside Port Canaveral ... surely they can run tenders to go ashore if necessary as otherwise, self-sustaining for the next few days with crews & officers only aren't cause for alarm.

I'll be on the Getaway on 10/15.  Now I wish I was on the 10/8 sailing.  Checking in should be a breeze and the rooms should be ready first thing in the AM.  That's assuming they don't make everyone wait just out of spite

Good one!  I've been having fun all summer telling people at parties that I'm going on a transatlantic on that ship that hit the iceberg.

No need to pay for parking. Stop/anchor off shore. Periodically do a loop to make water and dump sewage. Cleaning, training, and crew parties.
