We will be sailing in December. Did you happen to see the drunk menu for Brass and Bock? In 2019 when we were on the Anthem they had Dogfish 90 minute and Red Hook Longhammer which were my go to drinks. Is there anything similar to that now? Thanks.

If you have app on your phone you can look at their bar menu.

I’ve found the online menu (and in fact any menu) isn’t accurate in regards to craft beer selection on Royal. Especially post pandemic.

Yes, that is true.    The food menus on the app are usually accurate but may see some a dish or two change depending on what shipment they receive that week.     Same goes for the bars.     As far as beers you will probably have to wait and see what is available when you board or ask on the roll call for those on the sailing the week before.

With Anthem just doing the crossing what they have now from shipments in the UK won't be the same as what they will get in the US in December for your sailing

I didn’t see anything with similar names on the drinks menu of Brass and Bock.

There are some very knowledgeable people on this thread, so hopefully someone can provide some answer.

Thank you. It probably does make sense that drinks would be different depending on location of the sailing too.  Only 42 days away so I can wait until we board.

Get Off Our Ship Day

Hello from New York City!

I had luggage tag 40, the very last number available, so I wasn’t in any hurry. I packed my backpack and said goodbye to the stateroom that had been my home for the last 12 days.

On my last cruise, we had enjoyed breakfast in the MDR on the last day. It had been a very relaxed experience that I chose to repeat. It was busier than it had been the last time I had had breakfast there on this cruise, but there were only a couple of groups in front of me and I didn’t have to wait long to be seated.

I ordered scrambled eggs with bacon and a hash brown potato. It was a perfectly adequate breakfast…but is it just me who prefers the scrambled eggs from the buffet?

After breakfast, I went up to Deck 15 to grab some pictures of the Manhattan skyline from the ship. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and I could tell it was going to be a perfect day to be a tourist.

Then, I retreated to the Schooner Bar to wait for my number to be called. It ended up being called fifteen minutes earlier than expected and at that point it was an easy walk off the ship. I couldn’t resist turning around for one last look at the beautiful Anthem.

Picking up my luggage was a breeze, and no one was checking our passports since we had done immigration in Boston. Outside, however, it was absolute madness with people everywhere looking for transfers, cabs, their family, a way sneaky way back onto the ship, etc.

It took me a while, but I eventually spotted the buses that looked like they were transfers provided by Royal Caribbean. Not feeling very confident, I made my way over there.

I was pleasantly surprised that the person in charge of the transfers knew exactly who I was and had an adapted vehicle waiting for me. Feeling like a princess in her private carriage, I resisted the urge to wave at my subjects as I was being lifted into the van.

Since it was just me, we were on our way in no time. He dropped me off as expected at the corner of West 37th Street and 9th Avenue. From there, it was only a 5 minutes walk to my fairly dodgy hotel.

I dropped off my luggage and I was off for some land adventures in New York City.

Oh, and I lied earlier. It wasn’t my last time seeing the Anthem that day. I got a glimpse while I was hanging out on the East River Esplanade.

And I got a real treat later while I was on a cruise to see the Statue of Liberty. I could see Anthem sailing away towards new adventures.

I hope we can go on a cruise together again soon!

You're only a few blocks from one of my favorite NYC pizza places, Capizzi.

Day 10 - continued

Two70 was still dark and empty. It was an ideal time to play the Two70 Expedition Game that’s in the app. To participate in the expedition, just find the Two70 section at the bottom of the app. It will show you a map with four different masks you need to find around the venue.

Once you find a mask, the app will prompt you to scan it. Then, you’ll have to complete an augmented reality task on your phone. If you are able to walk in a circle while pointing your phone in the same direction at the same time, you’ll probably be able to complete this without too many issues.

For me, it was a hot mess and I gave up after two masks. I did have a lot of fun exploring the different levels of Two70 while looking for the masks, though. I had already spotted a ramp behind the bar, so I went there first and I found an elevating platform that will take you to the very bottom of the venue.

You can operate the platform by yourself, but it will not work if the door isn’t completely closed. You may need to wiggle the door a bit to close it properly.

People were starting to come in for breakfast and I was getting tired of failing to spin around an augmented reality mountain, so I joined the breakfast bandwagon.

I am trying to find more info on this game. I love stuff like this. So it's played in 270 on your phone? Do you have to play it when no one is there? Does it cost money? Do you reserve a time or is it more whenever?

Hi all!

laurieal ~ thanks so much for this in depth report. I was also cruising solo on the Anthem & really enjoyed it although I did different things than you, eg attended the President talks, no DIamond lounge for me, only Emerald.😢 I had the same impression of the motivational speaker.😉

I really enjoyed WWRY, finding watching the director & drummer in their balconies, fascinating..

BTW those Cheezies are made in Belleville Ontario, about an hour away from where I live.

I look forward to your next cruise. Stay safe.

~ Jo ~ 😊
