Welcome Celebrity Eclipse - my favourite ship! Looking forward to sailing on her over Christmas and New Year!

My first voyage on Eclipse was  in 2010  in Europe.

What do you like about her. Bon Voyage for Christmas/Near Year!

I have never cruised on Eclipse but have done three on Solstice.

If you have cruised on Solstice is there much difference between them?

I asked one of the security crew I was working with if they do this very often and he said….. all the time and normally they have music and dancing as well.

I don't think so, we have sailed on Eclipse and Silhouette and they were very similar, only subtle differences and would assume Eclipse to be the same ( apart from being clapped aboard  of course😂 )

I have only cruised on one Celebrity ship, Celebrity Century, from Auckland to Sydney and I really liked that ship.

Agree. My first cruise Feb 2012 was on Century, Sydney to Auckland via Hobart.

I love the design and elegance of all the Solstice class ships I've sailed on but have special memories of the Eclipse.

When sailing out of some ports in Europe we had cheese and wine parties on the lawn with music so that was lovely.

The Sky observation lounge is a nice big space to meet up for pre-dinner drinks with other loyalty passengers. Passengers were friendly and usually well- travelled which made for some interesting conversation. Drinks and canapés were served in a nice relaxing atmosphere.

I also enjoyed the champagne welcome and the food in the restaurants.

I hope this post goes through because my previous one didn’t!

Very friendly crew on board…… virtually every guest  was clapped on board as they stepped off the gangway onto the ship.

Were there any Lurgy cases Graham? After all you are the OPT Guru.

There were a few ( don't know the exact number) but that, I believe, has been the case for most cruises but then again how many norovirus cases do ships have? It seems  now, with  everyone vaccinated, the risk is very small.

Sorry  to hear about your health problem , I hope everything is OK and I get to give you the Red Carpet treatment some day soon……..very few deserve it😁
