Rare EllieinNJ Posted November 26, 2022 #26 Share Posted November 26, 2022 On the Enchanted last week the only good desserts in the MDR and international cafe were the cheesecakes.

At least I can still count on the luscious soufflés. Can’t I? Yes - there were plenty of soufflés on the Emerald Princess. Also - here was my Love Boat Dream last week on Emerald Princess. I ordered it just to see what they were offering: Edited November 26, 2022 by Coral

These pictures look like they have been given a new “interpretation” by the individual ship executive chef. Consistently would be nice. Yes they were! I even asked my waiter about the red love boat dream and he had no clue what I was talking about. He mentioned they may have done something different during an anniversary sailing or something but he had no clue what I was talking about and the Love Boat Dream came out looking like it did pre-covid. konatyme Posted November 26, 2022 #30 Share Posted November 26, 2022 Both these desserts looked and tasted as they had in the past when we were on the Regal in Sept. Two of my favorites!
Thrak Posted November 26, 2022 #31 Share Posted November 26, 2022 On Royal Princess in May they didn't offer my usual Creme Brulee at dinner so I ordered the old stand by Love Boat Dream. I was served the abomination shown in the first post. It was pathetic and majorly disappointing.
KLM3164 Posted November 26, 2022 #32 Share Posted November 26, 2022 Currently on the Royal Princess and the Love Boat Dream is the red version shown in post #1. But the good news is the Crème Brûlée is back on the dinner menu.

I am totally unfamiliar with the one that has the "curves".
Rare Coral Posted November 26, 2022 #34 Share Posted November 26, 2022 I understand variations but these are definitely 2 different recipes. I wonder why some ships are doing one recipe and other ships, another recipe?

My earlier guess was and still is the availability of chocolate, either due to supply chain issues or their continuing need to lower costs. They really should call it something else if they aren't able to deliver the versions that many of us have grown to know and love.

We had corporate chef onboard this week.

Ha!! I just told my husband that I would ask on board next month if it was the regular Love Boat Dream or that nasty thing we just had on Discovery. 1

wrongwaywatson Posted November 27, 2022 #41 Share Posted November 27, 2022 We are currently on the Enchanted Princess and the Love Boat Dream is the same, wonderful chocolate delight! I asked and they said that it recently was switched back. Maybe not all of the ships have switched back yet?

Rare geoherb Posted November 28, 2022 #44 Share Posted November 28, 2022 I noticed the Love Boat Dream varied on my August cruise on the Caribbean. I never ordered it, but I saw it when others ordered it at my table. I did get the pistachio dome. It looked and tasted right.
tonit964 Posted November 28, 2022 #45 Share Posted November 28, 2022 I’m on the Discovery now, I’ll order it one night and see which one I get. I’m do have to say, I ordered the Mojito Ceviche starter and was shocked at what was put in front of me. If anyone remembers, it was served in a martini glass and actually looked like ceviche. This is what I got.
rdsqrl Posted November 28, 2022 #46 Share Posted November 28, 2022 It looks like leftover vegetable soup. How did it taste, or did you just send it back without trying?
