Tell me about Haven experience on Escape

Our only time in the Haven was on Joy last year.  Considering Escape....(DH hates driving to Miami).  How would  our experience on Escape compare?

How ilarge is the sundeck?  How many hot tubs?

I know Escape does not have an Explorer's lounge.  We thought the one on Joy was outstanding!  Anything to compare?

Casino?

The pool on Escape is also covered.  When we were on Joy the pool was taken over by kids constantly.  Is there an  "adult only" pool option on Escape?

Also looking at Prima.  If only their prices come down just a bit.😎

Escape's Haven sundeck is not large. It is less than 1/2 the size of Joy's Haven sundeck.

Escape has 2 hot-tubs in the courtyard and 1 hot-tub on the Haven sundeck. Joy has 1 down and 2 upstairs.

No separate area for smokers.

One of the pools on deck 16 is adult only and it is flanked by 2 hot-tubs.

Absolutely not. We've been on the Escape 5 times in a mix of mini-suite and Haven. We have enjoyed every cruise. And have just booked another on the Escape.

Depends on what is important to you. The Escape is hands down my favorite ship. Mic drop. The last time I was on her was the 2nd to last week before the shut down. We had an aft Haven penthouse suite. The balcony was simply amazing. The haven enclave is beautiful but the pool deck is small and not adults only. There were some kids from time to time but nothing too outrageous. The outdoor sun deck is ages 16 and up I believe. The retractable roof was open much of the time and that really wasn’t my favorite (on Breakaway they kept it closed and climate controlled). We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor dining area attached to the restaurant and the thermal suite on the ship is the best at sea imo. We also really enjoyed the draft house, the water front and Choir of Man (theater show).  The casino is large and offers a variety of current games. Smoking is a bummer but we survived. There’s a dueling piano bar, tons of dining options and endless things to do!

So glad I watched video, no way would I pay for the Haven experience without the Observation Lounge on the Bliss and I think Joy.  the Breakaway and Getaway do not have them but I was wrongly under impression Escape did.   thanks for getting me in the know.

Thanks, Georgia Peaches,

I value your opinion.  I was looking at some videos of the aft Haven penthouse suite and it does look fabulous.  We like aft balconies and used to always do them in the past.  Wonder why we stopped?😕

The Observation Lounge is something we really like.  In fact, I would not be looking at The Retreat on Celebrity if their Edge class had a lounge in front that was open to all.  The Edge class is very expensive and I'm reading mixed (very) reviews of Luminae.

I like a outdoor pool (so even though I complain about the kids in Joy's Haven pool I probably wouldn't have used it much, if at all)😀

DH liked the food on Norwegian .... its specialty restaurants and Haven.  He especially likes how they do breakfast in the Haven and the suite breakfast  restaurants on their smaller ships that  don't have a Haven..

Prima seems to tick most of my boxes, but because I have read some really nice feedback on this thread I will consider Escape.  If I do, I'll need help picking the right Aft suite.

Thank you, @mafig!  The only thing keeping us off of NCL is their current suite pricing.  It's just too much for repeat itineraries in the Caribbean.  We'd like to try some new itineraries some day but for now, we are just sticking closer to home. 😊

I'd like new itineraries too.  Lately, we've just stayed on board and enjoyed the ship.  Compared to Celebrity, some of NCL's suite pricing looks pretty good .... not as good as MSC, but even they are getting up there.

Thanks for the thermal suite plug. The daughter and I (I am a senior) booked a Haven Spa Suite as we both love the spa. I especially love the chaise lounges. You summed up Escape Haven nicely for me. We have stayed in Suites on the the non-Haven ships and the Haven and though they are basically the same there is a little tweak here and there.

Could this be the cruise the daughter and I will finally meet you? We are going June 18th-25th 2023.
