This is a secure enclave of shops and restaurants that contains only screened vendors. Approaching Falmouth at 10 AM – The Caribbean Princess is already moored. View of the tourist area from our verandah I spent most of the day catching up on my blog posts – I have learned that if I fall behind, it is almost impossible to catch up. This sign shows the taxi fares from the port to various tourist areas You can download a copy of my pre-cruise port brief HERE Here is the secure entrance and exit to the Falmouth tourist area I went ashore around 4:45 – with the all aboard at 5:30, I had to move fast. I quickly walked around the shops in the tourist area and bought a T-shirt and a Robin Ruth Jamaica Bag. Then it was back to the ship at 5:30. I wasn’t the last onboard as another tour was still on the way back. Retail Directory as of 5 Jan 2023 The Sail Away Party was lightly attended, and waiters passed out Watermelon Gaspacho. Watermelon Gaspacho Had fun with Lydia, Cheryl and Roxanne at the Sail Away The 2023 World Cruise T-shirts were on sale in the shops – and they usually go quickly – so we picked up a couple while they were still available. Steven Scott was the featured entertainer tonight – He was very funny and we enjoyed the show. LouChamp Posted January 7, 2023 #92 Share Posted January 7, 2023 Aloha. We love long cruises and I thoroughly enjoy wearing a tux. We love the TAs on the QM2 and getting dressed every night. That said, on a longer voyage every night is in my opinion too much. Imagine being on those ships in the early 1900s with no air conditioning wearing a tuxedo😂

We thought we'd see them on VoV (Nope) or they fell out with paperless protocol and had to be viewed on Navigator 🤪 Had to use them in Sri Lanka when the tuk-tuk driver didn't speak English nor know where the ships were docked. 🙃
Rare The-Inside-Cabin Posted January 7, 2023 Author #96 Share Posted January 7, 2023 Here's the latest from The Inside Cabin The Tuxedo Junction at Sea (Post #6) By The Inside Cabin on Jan 07, 2023 12:01 am Click "Show More Posts" to show all the links to the other posts for the 2023 World Cruise The Tuxedo Junction held its first meeting during our first “Dressy Night” Interactive Cruise Map Itinerary, Menus, When & Where and Entertainers Cruise Reference Items We had to complete a mandatory COVID self-test today between 9 and 9:30 am. Test kits were delivered to our rooms with instructions in envelopes. Since we have done many self-tests previously, this one was a snap, and we had our negative results in 10 minutes. The Room Stewards made the rounds, and we showed them the results of our test, and that was that. The Captain announced later that the number of positive cases wouldn’t be disclosed due to “privacy reasons,” but we were still in Level 1 – which was good. Nevertheless, we will still wear masks while inside until we leave Panama. We played our first Texas Hold’em tournament. $60 buy-in for $5000 in tournament chips. Blinds start at 25/50 and increase every 15 minutes – games will take almost 2 hours. Seven of the players were regulars on 2020 – it was Old Home Week in the Casino. Tonight was Dressy Night and our first Tuxedo Junction! We probably had about ten couples in The Junction – everyone looked MARVELOUS! The Captains Welcome toast was at 7 pm in the Theatre. They served Champagne as we entered. The room was full but not overflowing. I was sitting toward the front, so I couldn’t tell if people were jammed trying to get in. Pete, Lydia, and Sheryl at the Captains Welcome Toast Cruise and Travel Director, Ian, was the Master of Ceremonies Capt Kramer introduced his senior officers – the only regulars were Henk and Shiv – all the rest were new to me – not sure if they had previous World Cruise experience. Capt Kramer introduced his senior staff The Dinner menu was one of those Culinary specials – you can find a copy on the Itinerary, Menus and Program page HERE. The Zuiderdam singers and dancers are back, but at half the size of previous production show casts – Two Singers and Four Dancers. The show was fun and high energy – here is a short highlight reel. Tomorrow we will be in Costa Rica.
