Point Man Posted January 16, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2023 Hi everyone. Which Carnival ships have single passenger cabins? I sometimes sail without my wife and often room with my sisters and their husbands. It would be nice to have a list of ships which have cabins that were just for one person without having to pay for two people to have a cabin. Thank you
DramaQueen22 Posted January 16, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 16, 2023 No Carnival sips have solo cabins. You'll have to pay the double occupancy rate. I've done it...just choose an interior and it's still fairly affordable. You may get an upsell offer later as well.
Rare maxandmolly Posted January 16, 2023 #3 Share Posted January 16, 2023 No such thing in Carnival. Both of my solo cruises I had to pay double occupancy rate.
JT1962 Posted January 16, 2023 #4 Share Posted January 16, 2023 I did 2 solo cruises on Carnival in May & June of 2022 with very low or no solo up charge rates, but the I have only gotten a few good solo offers since then. Most of the solo rates now require you to pay the price for two people. If you travel solo often, MSC has some great solo rates currently, with most only having a 30% or less surcharge for solo guests.

It would be the same cruise fare if two sailed.

When I change the number of passengers from 2 to 1 on my email offers, it doesn’t double on the first few sometimes. I got one yesterday for a 4 day from Jacksonville that was $ 119 pp for 2 or $ 128 for 1. I went on the Ecstasy for 5 nights in June for $ 70 solo and the price for 2 was $ 60 pp.
LibertyBella Posted January 16, 2023 #7 Share Posted January 16, 2023 NCL has solo cabins on some of their ships. My mother sailed in one. They are a bit skinnier than regular cabins and share a special common area.
Rare starstruck05 Posted January 16, 2023 #8 Share Posted January 16, 2023 I just got off a solo on the Valor. My rate was a single rate, note it was a Casino offer. 5 day cruise and I paid just over $300. It depends on the offer. I had a inside A1 cabin that actually can sleep 3. A1 cabins are probably your best bet to getting a single rate. I haven't heard of anyone getting single rate that wasn't in an inside room.

So two people would have been 250.00. I just put in my self and it was only 125.00 plus taxes/fees. I tried both ways and then booked it as a solo. It was a 1A upper/lower rooms set up. Every time I've seen the offer it's been for that sort of room.
Rare 1025cruise Posted January 16, 2023 #10 Share Posted January 16, 2023 Well, technically all rooms can be solo rooms.

pengu1n Posted January 16, 2023 #12 Share Posted January 16, 2023 Glory has at least 2 single rooms (at least they did in August!) Very small room with a porthole, but listed as inside. Twin bed, no bunk. It popped up when my husband was trying to book a single room.

Room is big about the same size as an Oceanview or balcony. A little bigger then regular insides

Cinnamon2 Posted January 17, 2023 #16 Share Posted January 17, 2023 I was able to book a cabin on "cyber Monday" back in November which offered half off for second passenger. So I booked a balcony cabin for myself for the price of 1 1/2 fares, plus taxes and port fees etc. Saved a few hundred dollars by booking during that promotion. Many different cabin categories and sailings were available - they were selling fast and some people complained on here and on other boards of not being able to book. glrounds Posted January 18, 2023 #22 Share Posted January 18, 2023 Cruised solo on Carnival many times . . . . never got a solo rate provided you aren't counting all the freebie cruise on the casino offerings.

Jasonsterling Posted January 18, 2023 #24 Share Posted January 18, 2023 For anyone who's curious this was a solo rate on Carnival I received about a year and a half ago. The rate pp was 125.00 for five days and you can see from the total I paid 125.00 plus taxes/fees/tips for just one person. It was a 1A upper/lower. These fares are rare but they do happen.
