Well, there is the complimentary Local restaurant on NCL which offers a pretty wide menu including Fish and Chips and a Blue Burger like O'Malley's.

Not to mention the full English breakfast.

Post Covid cruising is different, no doubt,  And yes they all play follow the leader on each change.

Boils down to choice and your budget - are the included parts at no extra charge good enough for you to still enjoy cruising?  Or do you want more options and are willing to pay for them and include those fees when you plan your overall cost?

I travel for the ports so basic works for me - and if something seems really good I truely want to try, then I will pay for it.

However, being a non drinker, I am sad to see they no longer have the just soda package and increased the cost for the new soda package with other drinks I don’t want.🙁

I recently sailed on the NCL Bliss and will be sailing on HAL Eurodam next week followed by Princess Sapphire.

NCL recently increased the gratuity from $15 to $20 while cutting stewards pay and eliminating turndown.

https://www.cruisehive.com/norwegian-cruise-line-to-increase-gratuities-for-all-passengers/89754 They are also cutting back on what I think was their best feature - Entertainment. They cancelled Kinky Boots on the Encore by telling the cast they were no longer needed.

https://cruiseradio.net/norwegian-cruise-lays-off-entertainment-staff/

There is more nickel and diming, but just wanted to show Princess isn't alone.

Wondering if they are cutting pay for crew while increasing gratuities for all of us? Princess still has turndown at least for now.

I really can't say as it's been years since we've sailed other cruise lines.

Perhaps others that have recently sailed on RCL, HAL or NCL can chime in.

IMO, Princess is the least nickel and dime line out there.

Sailed Celebrity back in Feb. Room Service is $9.99+18% for every order outside of continental breakfast, plus a very limited menu compared to Princess who has no delivery charges, etc. The only exception is if you're in a suite on Celebrity.

They also charge $17.95+18% gratuity for an additional lobster tail. Unlike Princess with their as many as you like.

Their drink prices are higher, as are their drink packages prices. Wifi is more expensive..

They do still give a carry bag in every cabin, a very nice canvas bag with a small change bag in it also, much better quality than the old Princess blue bags, but not anywhere near as good as the ones from years past..

Higher specialty dining costs aboard Celebration, by far...

Plenty of other things they charge for that Princess doesn't, or charge higher than Princess...

RCCL, same for room service, specialty dining, drinks and packages, etc

NCL - higher daily service charge, higher gratuity on drinks, higher specialty dining costs, 24/7 room service delivery charge, and so forth.

Princess is currently the least nickel and diming line of the mainstream lines.

It appears that most of the items that other cruise lines charge extra for I don't really use.

i.e.- room service, addl. items at dinner, can do without Wi-Fi,  limited specialty dining.

I guess I'll just have to weigh the added costs for addl. on Princess to the total bill and judge for myself if the new Princess experience is worth the money.

Some nerdy speculation from my other half who is the beer drinker of the household... looking at the O'Malley's rendering and the table at the front on the right - is that a self-serve keg in the middle?

Thank you for this info which confirms our choices. I know many love Celebrity, but due to our experience in 2018 (pre-covid), we will not return. This had been our 2nd cruise with them, and good grief; snooty, very poor service and food.

Ahh I only saw an O'Malley's food menu posted on here. Do you have all the menus?  My beer drinker other half is so disappointed - like the Irish are known for their cocktails on tap! 😁

We bounce from Celebrity to Princess and back.  Generally, we find both to be to our liking for different reasons.  We've also had issues with both.  We've got a booking on Silhouette next April.  We are considering following that with a casino comp on Enchanted in August.  Hot in the Caribbean, but you can't beat the price.  😀

We recognize several IDs on this thread and respect your opinions.  So if you have any comments on Enchanted vs Sky we'd appreciate them.  Full disclosure, we really didn't like Sky.  Good Spirits was terrible and when Alfredo's becomes preferred over the MDR it doesn't say much for the food.

Great venue...was on the NCL Joy, Encore & Getaway recently...great Reuben sandwich, fish & chips, wings, turkey salad club, all great, all free...24/7 also..went there after the Beatle's shows or after the Frankie Valli shows..great eats after the shows...
