YC Boarding - assigned embarkation times?

Please refresh my memory, I'm sure it's been covered - but, since the cruise is now just 10 days away, I wanted to make sure. This will be our first MSC sailing.

We're in a YC balcony, and presently on their website it indicates I have an embarkation time of 2:30. A couple of months ago, it showed 9:30 for a few weeks.

Do I actually need to wait until 2;30? Does the "white tent" I've heard people referring to adhere to those automatically generated (moving target!) arrival times? Also, thanks to status match, I'm Diamond - I didn't know if that factored into any of this at all either.

THANKS,

Tom

If you go at 2:30 PM you will miss lunch.  11:00 AM is always a good time…just in case there is a holdup Coast Guard inspection, etc.  There are always those who get there early and clog up the line waiting so let them go first.  The point is that you have paid for a premium service so you should be allowed to enjoy it from the moment you step into the YC tent.  And that includes a flute of Prosecco and munching on a macaroon before you board the ship…LOL.

Prosecco, water, juice and nibbles await you in the glorious white tent - so even if you are too early to board at least you won’t go hungry or thirsty 😉

If nibbles include good cookies, I might have to get there extra early... LOL

I have not seen anything to eat or drink in the tent but maybe we have been there too early.

Same for us, but the YC seating area inside has always been very well stocked with such!

There was at Southampton last year but not the previous year during the Covid-cruises (due to Covid probably).

I was in YC last October with assigned embarkation time around 3:00 sailing from Southhampton. I asked here and was told to go anytime as in YC which I did around 11:00 . I am sailing again in YC this July and will try to get on board even earlier. For me, white tent was indiciation for where to queue for YC check in. I was escorted to the dedicated space in the terminal where you can sit down for drinks/snacks while your check in is actually taking place.

10am has been the earliest Southampton.

The ones we have done have not been busy just a short line of early arrivers waiting for security to open.

Keep an eye on the reports over the next few weeks to see if it changes.

YC gets priority but have seen weeks where people were queued to get out of the carpark.

Have had to wait in the YC holding area twice and have never been served or seen offered, prosecco.  I have seen snacks and water/sodas available.  Were you offered prosecco?  My experiences were in Port Canaveral and Maimi.

Never sailed MSC in the USofA, always the Med or Caribbean Antilles. We never accept prosecco in YC, and always ask for champagne which is usually (but not always) available in the holding areas pre-boarding.

We were offered Prosecco when we cruised from Miami.
