Question about Latitudes concierge service

I am Platinum level, leaving on the Pearl from Boston to Bermuda in mid May. In Latitudes club, I am eligible for help from the on board concierge for help with booking reservations. Can anyone tell me where the concierge office is on the ship?

I found that CruiseNext representatives will make reservations for me for “sold out” shows and restaurants, particularly on embarkation day.  I am latitudes sapphire.

I have seen a Concierge working at table set up in corner of Moderno Restaurant (Deck 13 across from Cagney's).  I have only seen there only during the breakfast timeframe.

The only time I've gotten help from a concierge is in the Haven.  Even then the Haven concierge's have been variable from ship to ship. When not in the Haven,  I'm Platinum also, every time I've tried to go the concierge desk they tell me to go talk to Restaurant reservation, cruise next, or the main desk. I now avoid them.

the concierge perk is good, and only good if you're booked into a haven or a suite. club balcony suites do not count. usually, if youre booked into either of the above and are eating breakfast in moderno, the concierge is setup at the entrance.  if you're sailing on a ship with an actual dedicated haven (it's own bar and restaurant) they concierge usually has a desk set up in the haven area. sometimes, again if youre booked into a haven or a suite, once youre past security and sent to the haven area awaiting boarding, the concierge will come down to escort you on board. at this time i give him part 1 of my vegas handshake

Unless you're in Haven it literally does nothing. I couldn't even get a phone number for the "concierge" from guest services.

I've never booked in Haven, but the concierge on the Gem was Mr Leo. I used the perk when I was on board the Gem the past January and it was pretty awesome. But I didn't really want to share the positive review as more people would use it creating more work and less availability.

 

So I'll say the concierge perk is like Opera, some people will get it and like it and others won't. Either is fine with me.

Like others have said, the concierge is really only available to the Haven  guests on the larger ships that have a Haven. On smaller ships, the concierge works mostly with the guests in suites.  The number of Platinum and above guests is way too large for the concierge to be able to help them all.  You might try Cruise Next.

Even for Sapphire in Haven pretty weak.  And that is over a decade.

On the Jewel class ships, that is the dedicated concierge for the Haven and non-Haven suites. They usually set up there during breakfast so that they are easily available to suite guests in person during that time.

The concierge's office on a Jewel class ship is in the crew area behind guest services.

It has not been useless to me.  We have had wonderful experiences using the General Manager's secretary for our concierge needs.

 

Now the same "know it alls" are going to chime in on just how incorrect I am. I am simply conveying my past experiences from my previous dozen or so cruises.  So, I will just leave this here for anyone that cares to check it out.

Thanks for all the replies. It certainly seems to be a Latitudes perk (non perk) that is non existent. I guess no one complains even though it is in black and white! I am more of a Celebrity cruiser and they deliver on their published tier perks.

tinalaska:  i usually start with a $20. i find wherever one may travel, "si habla $20 bill"  as the cruise progresses, i usually add another $20.  in most restaurants (either on land or sea) slipping the maitre'd helps.  sadly, in more upscale establishments, the maitre'd or seating hostess, usually expect this

We were on the jewel (3 of us) and wanted to eat dinner one night at cagneys, only to be told 

"no more tables available until around 9"  the maitre'd was around, and since i had previously introduced myself with the handshake, i slipped him another 10, and we got right  in.

 

i know it's tacky, and im certainly jaded, but unfortunately, that's the way the world works

Hey, if it works for you, then it makes the world turn. It's not my style. I'd rather wait or go somewhere else, but we all value different things. Money certainly speaks!

hey,cruiseny4life.  it works for me and the people traveling with me.  to each his own. i find a little extra $$$ goes a long way to people who arent getting paid very much. that being said however, to each his own. it was just a suggestion to those people like me that are semi-prima donnas, and dont  like to way. it reminds me of my days in the army. the catch phrase was always "hurry up and wait)!

i didnt interpret your post as throwing shade, sorry ff you took t that way. and i certainly wasnt offended by it, your posts ae usually spot on, and most align with my thinking. consequently, i look forward to the day you and your husband, my wife and i are on the same cruise, to share a drink or a meal.
