Mask policy

If you are in a part of the world where they are still taking COVID very seriously, there have been recent cases of the Captain recommending masks indoors when cases rise on the ship.  This happened a cruise or two ago on the Eclipse in Australia.

But otherwise, I haven't seen any mask requirements in quite some time although you likely will see a few crew and passengers voluntarily wearing them..

We were on the Eclipse for a B2B2B2B.  The ship was in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.  On the final leg, which started April 6th, we had an uptick in covid cases.  Initially folks were asked to mask in the casino and theater.  Then masks were to be worn in all public spaces unless actively eating or drinking.  At that point all of the crew wore masks.

On the Beyond, there were about 30 people we saw wearing masks.  We wore them in the theater as it was packed  and we heard  alot of hacking.  There were cases on the ship.  This cruiser came and sat next to me by the pool and she was not doing well. Coughing, sneezing, etc.    I moved to a different location.

She may have had an old fashioned cold, we coughed and sneezed before covid appeared.

Onboard Millennium on a Ft Lauderdale to Los Angeles, via the Panama Canal, cruise and mask are not required of passengers or crew.  I have seen people wearing mask, both crew and passengers but they are in the minority.  At the entrance to the theater on both decks there is a stand with mask in a plastic see through holder saying “free to guest.”
