I've only ever stayed in mini-suites on Princess so I find the showers to be extremely roomy compared to other cruise lines where I've not had the tub combo.

We're booked in a mini-suite for May 2024 so hoping you'll answer the 2 questions I have.  Is there any coverage above on the balcony and can you get a hand held showerhead?  Thanks.

On the CB covered balconies on mini suites are prime real estate. I think they only exist on emerald deck and tend to sell fast. All dolphin deck (90% of minis on CB) are open air.

As for handheld shower heads I don’t think they are hand held but I could be mistaken.

Go on your app to request a hand held shower head (removable and can be held by your hands).  If not done prior to board, send a crew chat to ask for one.  Don't know how many they have.

Thanks.  Not ideal for Norway/Iceland but we’ll just have to make the best of it.

Thanks.  We were able to do that on the Grand so, hopefully, this time they’ll actually pay attention to the pre boarding request.

Do you really believe that shoreside operations communicates with fleet?  Just being ornery.  The do a decent job with Meet and Greet coordinations, hmmm...can't think of much more.

I liked how there was no entertainment in the theater or club fusion last three nights of the ship- the best entertainment will come from watching tv in your cabin.

The steaks in the CG and the prime rib on last night were exceptionally tough; this is a good way to exercise your jaw muscles .

The presence of  roaches shows that princess cares about all forms of life and their crawling about is an example of Princess’s commitment to life.

Hey, if you’re lucky, maybe you’ll get a room where you have lots of roaches to keep you company!

You can take selfies with them or even post pics of them on face book while you boast that you got a wonderful room on a cruise ship and didn’t have to pay extra for all the roaches! Boy, I bet your friends will be jealous!

We sailed on the CB in 2018 and had lousy AC in our cabin, It took them 4 days of trying to fix the situation and then finally changed our cabin.

The buffet food was terrible so we resorted to eating in the DR whenever it was open, which was consistently good.

After sailing on Royal class ships since then I would never return to the CB at any price. Why would anyone consider that ship when there are much better alternatives to choose from?

I suppose if it stopped ports you just had to see then it might be a possibility but just be prepared to adjust your expectations a bit.

It's not the greatest of ships compared to the rest of the fleet.

For the time I cruised ( 5/27), the CP was cheapest, even cheaper than MSC ( $1200 total for two with $150 obc).

With that in mine, I was satisfied with the cruise . Had I paid double that , uh, no, I wouldn’t be happy.

Our last cruise 5 days on CB over Thanksgiving.

Our next cruise 5 days on CB around Halloween to PC and Grand Turk - and I'm starting to rethink

that cruise - nothing to do with this thread.

Is CB a 'destination' ship? - certainly not for us

Is PCay and Grand Turk special destinations - not for us

but it is a cruise at a nice price point when we booked (not now - WOW) and drivable port

still some time before final and may pay, use CFAR, and apply money to a SUN Princess cruise

in 2024 where the ship WILL BE the destination.

There's a reason why a cruise on the CB is offered at that price.

Glad you were satisfied.

There are other ships in the same class as the CB that are priced similarly.

We sailed on the Caribbean last fall and we had no complaints that I can remember.  Sure, it is showing a little age here and there, but for the most part it is still a nice ship and the crew is great, the entertainment staff is really fun and the itinerary was wonderful!

Been a year--sailed last July for 2 weeks & it was great.

Reading the reviews...

--several complaints were about changes in Elite perks (not a Caribbean Princess issue).

--mildew in shower? not uncommon to see in hotel rooms

--insult comedy? OH NO

--smallest room every--HUH? GURRRL, try NCL interior....

--poor ship layout? Other than going down a flight to one MDR, I don't have ANY idea what they are talking about.

--missed ports due to safety issues? HAPPENS ALL THE TIME

--but other ships docked? may be WHEN they docked, size of ship, etc.

--shows not to your taste? Yep, it happens

--not enough activities to your taste? Yep, has happened to me, too. Maybe Princess isn't the line for you, or maybe cruising isn't for you (one reason I'm over MSC)

Complainers are gonna complain. I read those & see little consistency to the complaints which says to me that it isn't a Caribbean Princess issue, but the complainers issue.

Agree completely!

It is interesting to hear everyone’s thoughts and opinions. It is also interesting how people have different levels of tolerability regarding problems. I don’t sweat the small stuff. But a/c and roaches are a different situation altogether. There is currently another new post regarding someone onboard the Caribbean right now with no a/c in a mini suite and no help from staff. There obviously is an issue with the a/c system on the Caribbean. It also seems like this is an ongoing issue since at least 2018. The ship was in dry dock 2019 and 2022. What is the problem! Is it not repairable? Maybe the system needs a complete replacement which we know isn’t going to be done anytime soon. We are scheduled to sail on Oct 31st. This would be our first Princess cruise. We chose it based on number of nights, port of departure(we live in FL), price, and time of year. However I don’t think I want to take the chance we will be in a cabin with none or inadequate a/c. I think we are going to pay more and switch to an RCL or Celebrity cruise.

It's not the greatest of ships compared to the rest of the fleet.

We sailed on CB several times in the 2010-2015 years, and at first it was our favorite ship.  But over time  because of the continual a.c. and plumbing issues along with other less crucial issues we won't sail on her ever again.  It seemed like the Baja deck from the 600's and aft had problems every time we were aboard with the ceiling tiles down and wires hanging. Also there were flooded cabins with furniture in the hall and bad odors.  On one of those cruises our toilet wouldn't flush immediately, and often it would wake us up in the middle of the night when it would finally flush.  This wasn't just once; it was most of the 15 day cruise.   From current reviews it doesn't look like things have improved much.

There are just to many newer Princess ships sailing to be bothered with an older ship, all of which don't have any of the CB's problems.

We cruised 2 weeks in 2022 on her and 2 weeks this year.  The only complaint that we had was the toilet overflowed the first week of our 2022 cruise.  It was quickly taken care of and you would have never known there was an issue.  We thought the staff was excellent.  We ate in the dining room, buffet and room service.  I did see quite a few passengers at the buffet handle food that they weren't taking and staff quickly handled it.  Maybe we are easy to please after 32 cruises.

We just got off the CB and had no issues at all. Plenty of air in our cabin and no roaches! Never ate in the buffet so I can't comment on that. Club Class dining was great as was the International Cafe. The bartenders at Vines we great even when it was busy. I prefer the royal class ships, but sometimes the CB works for our schedule.

We board the CB in a few days.  Hoping for the best.  We have sailed on her a few times pre-COVID.  We live close to Fort Lauderdale, so sometimes the CB works for us, too.

Random question...  do they still have the stir fry/ramen stations in the back section of the buffet?  We enjoyed it in the past, but I am wondering if they did away with it?

I saw nothing like that last week.

Most of the buffet food was pretty poor.

Highlights- always found cookies there, occasionally they put out onion rings which if fresh were pretty good and the large fried shrimp on the last night.

just off CB 6/3 and we had no problems - Deck 8 Emerald Ocean View - well used cabin - needed carpet replacing years ago but cabin steward kept it clean.  Invited to the most travelled cruises luncheon and enjoyed a good steak - 3 glasses wine (no cocktail)!!  A officer ate at every table (supposedly to hear negative gossip on Princess!!!)  Coffee was quite good in buffet we noticed.  Ate in restaurants when menu appealed to us otherwise up to the buffet which opened at 1700 hrs every night.  Casino very smoky and crowded - did not know you could do a slot tournament if you earned 200 points on the first night - have not seen that before.  So all in all it was worth the $75 we paid (casino offer).
