Ok. So what I saw was photoshopped?

No. That was my picture that was shared to social media, not by me. It was not photoshopped. I have better things to do than that 🤣

This is just crazy.  What are they trying to do to the brand?  They haven't allowed smoking in the casino in probably 15 years, maybe longer.

I hope there is a long line at GR complaining.

I will be Emailing Celebrity (executiveoffice@celebrity.com) post cruise and in my PCS  if vaping is allowed in the casino on our October Eclipse cruise voicing my dissatisfaction with that decision.  What's next. On the balconies and in the staterooms!

It seems like every day there is some change at Celebrity that is truly disappointing…

I spent many years sailing Disney and Royal as my daughter grew up…

We thought Celebrity would be our new go to line…but all these changes have given me pause..I guess only time will tell..I currently have 4 cruises booked hopefully they go well….

Looks like they have made changes to their smoking policy in the FAQ's to support this.

In casinos on itineraries where smoking is allowed, there will be visible signage designating the areas for both smoking and non-smoking guests.

I hope they will advise which itineraries they are going to designate as casino smoking allowed.

It also seems to indicate that there will be areas where smoking is not allowed.

I'm getting a little tired of all these silent policy changes.

This isn't about vaping.  This is smoking in general.  And although I know we can't always trust this, the update date on that page is January 2021.  Are you sure this is a change?  I have seen that language before and remembered wondering which itineraries allowed smoking.

In the past they were very clear that vaping was considered the same as smoking wrt the policy.  I can't say I've payed any attention to this topic since I've been on multiple Celebrity sailings per year since 2004 and I do remember a time where there was smoking it was so long ago I forget when it changed.

The current FAQ's seem to go to great detail to NOT specifically say smoking is only allowed in specified outdoor areas.   It lists several places but certainly leaves out several open deck areas.

It’s been more than 15 years. Smoking was allowed in the casino on Millennium on our first cruise, which was in 2006. By 2013 the casino was non-smoking.

In almost any other venue, if there's no smoking, there is no vaping. (airplanes for example...)

WTH is going on?? As @davekathy mentioned, what's next? And you know vaping folks will assuredly push the boundaries anyways...

I, for one, will be watching this horrible development closely...SMH...

Corroborating that the signage in the casino says vaping is allowed and smoking is not. On this sailing now. I saw a man vaping at one of the table games (and a big cloud as he turned away from the table). Not sure I noticed anyone else vaping. Spent hours in the casino.

If there was any doubt of the demographic X is trying to court, this change pretty much confirms it...

As my 60-something friend suggested, next dry dock Celebrity will replace the gelato bar with a tattoo parlor.  Virgin may be on to something.  Celebrity is out to get in on the action sooner than later.

As one of their unofficial rebranding officers, I am working on a deal to exchange out the Kelly balcony chairs for hammocks (sorry, side tables will be replaced with floor-standing ashtrays.)
