A vapers feelings vs My requirements are definitely two (2) different things...

I would think in this case My requirements will win out... every time!!!

Nothing against the vaper, personally, just the action...

Absolutely. HEALTH will always win over feelings.

It seems like every day there is some change at Celebrity that is truly disappointing…

I spent many years sailing Disney and Royal as my daughter grew up…

We thought Celebrity would be our new go to line…but all these changes have given me pause..I guess only time will tell..I currently have 4 cruises booked hopefully they go well….

Interesting, many on Princess are saying the same about that line. Looks like us traditional cruisers will not have as many options in the future.

I have not read all the multiple pages on this post. Someone may have already  made this point. My thinking on this is that the ability to vape in the casino means that those who do vape, will gamble more, as they won’t need to leave to fuel their habit, meaning more revenue for the cruise line. Royal allows smoking/vaping because of the revenue. Yes, I know that all gamblers don’t smoke/vape. On my last RCCL  cruise, inFebruary, on the two or three occasions I walked thru the casino, there were a lot of folks smoking.

This is the reason. The casino is the number one revenue on the ship.

and those who don't want to be around vaping will leave and I expect there are more of us than vapers

We were recently(May) on Summit and visited the casino nightly and never noticed anyone vaping.  We are booked for Apex in December.  Allowing vaping something new on Celebrity? Local casinos in Connecticut stopped all types of smoking after Covid and it is wonderful.  If Celebrity is allowing vaping then it goes along with all the other changes they are making.  Guess it is good for some.

For those who are thinking or are about to send an email off about this, personalize X as being a part of you...

In my subject line I put: Vaping is not being permitted inside our ships???

Making it appear that I have ownership and a vested interest in the issue and policy that I want them to scrutinize closely and change.

I For one welcome it. I Vape with a very discreet device that barely emits any vapour. I Don't at all agree with smoking in an enclosed area and would never do so myself, nor use one of the vapes that churns out clouds of vapour. I Think the vast majority of people that vape are the same. My little vape couldn't upset anybody and if keeps me from going back to 60 cigarettes a day then I'm happy. Please don't tar (pun intended) everybody with the same brush. Yes there has been some research done with questionable funding about the dangers of vaping but there is a lot more research being done. Public Health England have stated that "e-cigarettes are at least 95% less harmful to your health than normal cigarettes". I'm happy with that. Yes there will always be entitled people pushing the boundaries but please don't think we are all the same and if I'm not effecting you then please lay off the hate.

Unless your "discreet device" emits ABSOLUTELY NO vapor, you ARE impacting others and their health. Tell yourself whatever lies you want, but you are.

It certainly doesn't emit enough for anybody nearby to be inhaling any of it and I consciously don't breathe out for a few seconds which absorbs all of it. Please don't accuse me of lying.

You're in an enclosed space, it has nowhere to go but to others in your vicinity. I've been stuck in subway cars with people using those so-called "no emission" things when the people with them were still vaping on the train while stuck in a tunnel (others confronted them and they had all your same claims). We could ALL tell - we smelled it BEFORE anyone saw them doing the sneak sneak puff.

I usually do not email them until I experience it first hand, yet with the photo and first hand experience of Abby, I was compelled to do so immediately...

bon voyage

So will we write an email to the new CEO. This is very disappointing.

If one can smoke or vap at designated places onboard then I feel that it should not be allowed in the casino.

So can one vap in any casino on Celebrity ships now?

Can you tell me what’s in the vapor?  Do you always do that standing next to an air vent?

I read on another site that it is being tried on Eclipse also.

Actually, I find it refreshing to be able to "do my best" to influence a decision that I consider to be in my best interest in my cruise line of choice and love despite some setbacks and changes in policy, no matter how temporary...

Considering some of the other 'issues' batted around CC, this one is worthy of spending time on, IMO...

A great cause.

We have just emailed the Executive Office requesting confirmation of this "new"? policy, whether it is fleet wide and on all itineraries. We have confirmed that we would like all the interior areas plus the balconies on all Celebrity ships to remain smoke and vape free.

Just had an 11 minute call from the Executive Office. Just like the menu changes they are looking for feedback so the more people who contact them the better. Right now it is an 8 week pilot program on Equinox and Eclipse. My husband and I both spoke to her and express our disappointment and dissatisfaction with this "pilot program" We told her we feel it is indicative of more changes to come that will erode the Celebrity experience.
