Royal move up - offer received

If you make a bid and the status shows offer received. but the status  remains at offer received, does this mean the offer is not being considered?

No, it just means that they have received your bid. You probably won't know one way or the other about  whether you were successful until a few days before your sail date. We actually found out that one of our bids was successful about 4 hours after we boarded and had already unpacked.

Look for your initial denial email a month from today.

Did you have to accept & repack?

Not sure we had to accept, but it was an upgrade to a GS, so we gladly repacked.

Did you get an official denial letter? I have 3 bids in & don’t want to repack. Also I go through the trouble of sanitizing everything & line drawers with tissue paper.

We never received any correspondence from RCL. We found out we got the upgrade when GS left a message on the phone in our cabin that they needed to talk with us.

Wonder what would have happened if you didn’t listen to message until the next morning or didn’t come back to your room until midnight. Maybe they would have paged you. Anyway good for you. Thank you for quick responses.

Your credit card will have already been charged, even if you didnt listen to the message.

You receive notice that your bids can be accepted up until sail away.  If your bid is accepted, you will be charged and can not reject the cabin.  If you don't want to be in this position, it is best to cancel your bids while you still have access to them.

Good idea. Is there a timeline to cancel bids?

Not sure  I just know last time I bid which was before COVID I cancelled it once onboard.  I have bid on my upcoming Wonder cruise and will cancel the day before most likely

I have lost the cancel button on bids and haven't been able to cancel them.

I assume they mean 2 hours prior to departure??

Modifying or Cancelling the Offer

Guest may modify or cancel an Offer up to 2-hours prior to the cruise departure date, but only if the Offer has not been accepted by RCI and if the Credit Card has not been charged (the “Offer Period”). If Guest modifies or cancels the Offer during the Offer Period, the original Offer will be voided, and if applicable, replaced with Guest’s modified Offer. Voided or cancelled Offers will not be reviewed.

I found one of my emails titled "Onboard Upgrade Review" that details the procedure and it does say two hours prior to departure.  I know our emails saying we did not get the Royal Up came at sail away because we laughed at the timing.

With my last few Royal Up bids on the Navigator I received a response saying they would notify us once we were onboard. I did then receive a "bid unsuccessful" email from them that first evening onboard.  I am going on the Navigator in a few weeks and I received an upgrade to a Junior Suite from an Oceanview Balcony 4 weeks before the cruise. So you just never know !!  BTW -I bid $105 each and this was for a free Casino Royale cruise.
